Tiger Woods IN REHAB? Golfer Forced To Arizona Clinic For Addiction Treatment, Report Says

First Posted: 03/18/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 04:05 PM ET

Tiger Woods Rehab Addiction

X17 reports that Tiger Woods is attending rehab in Arizona. A source tells the web site that Woods' "handlers" compelled him to enter rehab because "they feel that if he blames his cheating on addiction, the public will forgive him." While the source does not specify what addiction Woods would be seeking treatment for, X17 finds it "obvious" that sex addiction would be at the top of the list.

This is not the first article to allege that the embattled golfer is seeking professional help. Earlier in December a report was published claiming that Woods was in an Arizona rehab clinic for "sexual compulsion" and Vicodin and Ambien use. The officer responsible for investigating Woods' car accident reportedly requested a subpoena because he believed Ambien and Vicodin may have been a factor in the crash. Another report claimed that Woods was classified as an overdose patient when he was admitted to the hospital after his car accident.

The list of alleged mistresses that came to light following Woods' car crash has, according to several reports, led Woods' wife Elin Nordegren to prepare for a divorce.

Among the women linked to Woods is a porn star (NSFW photos) who bragged about her "amazing" sex with the golfer. (His other alleged porn star mistress is wanted in Washington state.) Another woman, Jamie Jungers, claims she and Woods had "wild" and "crazy" sex against a wall. She even says she slept with him the night his father died.

Ha! Joeyfoto calling someone a judgemental creep for "judging" someone?

Then you put words into Choyce2020's mouth that she never even mentioned? She never typed anything about burning Tiger Woods' mistresses alive or branding them.

T is right that Woods' actions are very telling of the kind of person he is.

There's no such thing as sex addiction. It is not a disease. It's a "made up" term.

The real term is called "cheating." And he did it because he could.

This bogus clinics exists just so they can make money off of people who want to pretend to be "cured" -- and forgiven.

I think the 'rehab' bit is simply PR. I think the best possible 'rehab' practice was that issued by his wife, if the reports are true, that she hit him with a nine iron, breaking a couple of his teeth. If that doesn't cure someone from straying, not much will!

You know, I've wondered about that. If it is determined that she did in fact hit him with a golf club, isn't she subject to criminal prosecution? Even if he doesn't press charges, the city/state might. This can get really weird before it's all over.

I predict a stint in the rehab facility, then a tour of the talk shows, most dramtaically a sobbing confessional on Oprah. Perhaps a book will come out as well (he can't use the title "My Wicked Wicked Ways", Errol Flynn bagged that one with a great auto bio before he died). But Tiger will be back, no doubt. And I'll bet he's better than ever, when he has something to prove, he usually does it.

Divorce is NOT easy!! He will lose the opportunity to raise his children!! The world would
never see the potential golfers his children might be.

why Tiger would care.???

it is reported he made already 1 billion dollars over his career.

i guess he did not spend everything.

thus he can afford not to play or work for the rest of his life and spending more than 10 millions a year if he wants... (once you get 1 or 2 houses and 1 or 2 cars, 2 yachts... you only have to pay for food....)

i really do not understand why he would care about a sponsor or the news networks anymore.
he does not have to wake up at 7 in the morning every day to go to work....

He better care! Dosen't mean he can't fall from that pedestal.
My advice to Tiger is to get help and get back with his wife.
His Family is more valuable than any of that material stuff.

he is not in love with his wife. let her go
08:40 PM on 01/01/2010
I agree he should care! I agree that he could very easily fall off that pedistal. He had a choice and he chose badly. He made a commitment that should have meant more to him than life itself. I don't believe his wife should take him back. Particularly out of respect for herself. It has been my experience that "once a cheater, always a cheater." People who cheat, generally are not capable of being faithful because they lack respect for themselves as well as their partner. I don't believe that you can love someone if you can't respect them and their feelings. Cheating on them definitely shows lack of respect for the spouse.

I think the most embarrassing thing about the whole mess is who he was sleeping with.

He went dumpster-diving.

I just use my common sense.

After reading all of the comments it is apparent that there is not a "true" addict in the whole bunch of you posters. Believe it or not REHAB does work if one is open to it. Common sense tells us that if a person does to their life what Tiger has done with his escapades that something is wrong somewhere. After all just look at all of the problems he has caused because of his behavior. I hope he has a great experience in rehab. By the way being an addict does NOT excuse the behavior. One thing you do learn in rehab is to take responsibility for that behavior. Make no mistake if he has a positive experience he will understand that it was his behavior and will not make excuses for it.

I am a true believer that Rehab can be beneficial to people, but only if they can first accept the responsibility of their actions. I, myself have never had to go through anything like that but I do know people who have. The thing that appeared to make the difference in their success was the fact that they could accept the responsibility and that they continually try to make up for it. I think those people have learned from their mistakes and that does matter. Still though it does not take back all the damage they did, but maybe they will never do it again. In this case though, I think he is looking for approval from others by hiding behind the Rehab thing. I don't believe he plans to change his behaviors in the future. I don't believe he is capable of taking a marriage commitment seriously.

Successful rehab is a group experience. Not sure how Tiger could work in a group. He would most likely screw up everyone else's recovery. But I would pay to be there when its his turn to tell his story.

Sure . . . you mean on the putting green, out of the eye of the media

with his golf bag, ice tea and divorce attorney ?

I believe the accepted term for "sex addiction" is DEPRAVITY.

This guy acted on his "addiction" through each of his wife's pregnancies. Having seen a fair sampling of the kind of women he prefers, I think we can conclude that they reside in the high risk strata for every kind of disease. What kind of man doesn't think twice about exposing his wife and unborn children to disease?

He's just another appetite-driven guy who was never required to develop a character because the time was more profitably spent developing a golf swing.

I have a friend who is divorced just like tiger. The good thing is he is not married. He has the biggest appetite for women I have ever seen and want to make love to every one of them. He is great at picking up women , if fact he is a Don Juan to many of us.

If he were married it would make no difference because he would be the same person going after and bedding every women he could.

He is just like Tiger except he is smart enough to never get married again and obvious has big problems of having a single relationship

Oh, come on. The tired therapy ploy is so overworked (and predictable) as to be a joke. Tiger will put this behind him when he returns to golf and wins a tournament -- reminding the trolls what they liked him for in the first place. I wasn't interested in his sex life then. I'm not interested now.

Tee off.

The difference between an addiction and someone just enjoying a given behavior is that the addict suffers life altering negative consequences as a result of the addictive substance or behavior. Tiger meets this definition in spades. He has lost his wife, millions of dollars, the esteem of millions, not to mention his ability -- at least for now -- to play the game that made him rich. At the root of this kind of compulsive behavior is childhood trauma -- something he can hopefully begin to heal in the kind of intensive program offered at a high-quality rehab facility. I hope he gets the help he needs. It's heartbreaking to see what his life has become in so short a time.

He's a straight rich man who likes lots of p*ssy from different women, in Europe, this is a non-story, in puritanical America, it's, "oh my god!". I'm sure his "handlers" arranged all this rehab crap. Who cares, I'm looking forward to The Masters, hope he's there and I don't care about his personal life one bit.

I'm sure Ellen did not appreciate being exposed to lots of p*ssy from different women and their sexual histories. Tiger's willingness to expose his wife to STDs is when my personal "oh my god-ometer" kicks in.
