Hotline On Call:

As GOPers begin increasingly using the attempted bombing of a Detroit-bound airliner to score political points, 2 Dems are blaming the Bush admin for events that led directly to the failed attack.

While many Dems stay silent and let the WH lead the way, DCCC chair Chris Van Hollen and Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY) say the previous admin let down their guard.

We didnt have a single terror attack after 9-11 because of Bush's policies. This article is irresponsible.
08:29 PM on 01/05/2010
Gee, except of the largest terror attack in US history, everything was ok after 9/11...

Are you kidding?

Let's compare Bush's first year in office to Obama's first year in office....

Bush = 3,000 Americans dead from attacks on US soil.

Obama = 0 Americans dead from attacks on US soil.

Let the Republicans do the math.
04:23 PM on 01/04/2010
That is so absurd I am embarrassed FOR you
07:11 PM on 01/05/2010

One thing is for certain. Terrorists don't care if you're a Republican or Democrat, they aren't going to target one over the other when attacking America so everyone can just keep fighting as if one or the other group is somehow superhuman and will be able to magically blink themselves to safety when something goes down. The ship goes down, we all go down.

I am a long time progressive democrat, and you cannot start playing the blame game on Bush !!
Let's face facts here, our President is the decision maker now and will have to start taking contol of the steering wheel and what goes with it !!

Agreed, but it hardly matters. Being responsible and accountable is presidential. Whining and finger pointing is what my kids do.

Uhhhh...I think we caught on the first million times they said it as if we're so s.tupid we didn't already know. I'd like to see this administration quit being so whiney, quit spending so much time pointing fingers and just do its job. It's time to man up and accept responsibility of its position. Please tell me we're not going to have 4 years of this...1 year of it has been 1 year too many.

Honest answer wanted here, what do you think would put an end to Terrorists attempting to attack the United States and U.S. Interests around the world? What would need to happen?

There is nothing to be done. The first stone has been cast. There is a feeling of contempt and scorn towards the U.S. that can't be undone.
01:29 AM on 01/02/2010
The US needs to first respect other nations, other religions and other beliefs. It is necessary to foster diplomatic ties and to find common ground. This is the basis of working together in unity with other countries as opposed to fig.hting them and trying to impose every single own belief on them. Further there is the urgent need to become energy independent in order to become independent from oil producing countries.
The economy needs clear regulations in order to serve people and in order to use the planet’s resources wisely.
Politics must be free of money meddling. Politicians need to be proud servants of the population and work for them instead of their own coffers.
Since this is not the case now new laws have to be created to ensure that politicians work for their constituents and not for their own bank account.

Moreover since Republicans are 100% opposed to any of those points and try to impose their beliefs on everybody even in their own country it needs to be ensured that they don't hold power.
12:13 PM on 01/02/2010
People in the Congress used to work for the people of this Country. We don't need to make new Laws for Congress, we need to bring back the old Laws that prohibited our Elected officials from taking Money and Favors for Votes.

If you want to blame anyone for terrorism, blame your own addiction for war.
09:22 PM on 01/03/2010
It's not the addiction to war, it is the addiction to the profits of the war for all of the bankers who lend the money to the nation to support the war; profits for the industrialists of the MIC, profits to all of the subcontractors. Give US profits!

It's the greed, again!

Right on! Keep reminding the American public of how republican national security policies failed this country. Fight fire with fire. Offer to debate Cheney and DeMint on national security issues. Force these repubs to put up, or shut up!
