Michael Steele Calls Himself 'Honest Injun'

Steele

Media Matters:

On Fox News last night, Sean Hannity hosted RNC Chairman Michael Steele to promote the release of Steele's new book, Right Now: A 12-Step Program for Defeating the Obama Agenda. During the interview, Steele emphatically denied that the GOP needs "more modern" ideas, calling the party's platform "one of the best political documents" produced in the last quarter-century. "Honest Injun on that," he added.

HANNITY: There are those that are saying for the Republican Party to be successful, they've gotta quote be more modern.

STEELE: No, no! But that's what's gotten us into trouble, when we walked away from principle. Our platform is one of the best political documents that's been written in the last 25 years. Honest Injun on that.

He exists because the right thinks of America in the way that their business interests see us, as consumers. As such, they think like a Corporation putting put a new product line. If apple has a smartphone and it sells, we have to put one out. If the progressives have a black guy, we should have one. They want THEIR Obama and THEIR Hillary to blur the product line because all we are to them are simple minded consumers of their products.

Is this guy truly as ignorant as he sounds? The "party of no" must be very proud of his very thoughtful musings.

And yet another popcorn moment brought to us by member of the Republican party.

I am guessing it was okay for him to humiliate and downgrade another culture based on his own color.

Cheers Republicans, foot in mouth disease for the win in 2010!!

Injun .... yes ... Native Americans lived here & owned land here before the white man invaded & took over THEIR land.

Injun is insulting to Native Americans - who were robbed of their life, homes & future.

we all know native american are a great people with a proud history

as such, i doubt any but the whiniest of them (and as they are hardly crybabies, that would be very few of them), really care if some random, unelected dude used the tern "injun"

and if they, the native americans, are not upset, i don't really see any need to manufacture outrage on their behalf

Meaning that, what???

Most 'injuns' are dishonest. I don't think they were the ones who were lied to intil they were shipped out to settlement camps.

Thank you Michael Steele. My wife and I contributed thousands of dollars to Democratic victories in 2008, but nothing we could ever contribute a gift so meaningful as the things that you give to the democratic Party. Your contributions have been so helpful. Please take care of yourself, and don't let ANYBODY make you resign.

Why is it all about defeating the Obama agenda and not about doing what's best for the country? What sort of "principle" is that?
