Tea Party Planning Nationwide Strike On Anniversary Of Obama's Inauguration

As President Barack Obama's first year in office draws to a close, Tea Party groups are planning to mark the occasion with a national strike - something local leaders say could demonstrate the conservative groups' burgeoning strength.

The strike, planned for Jan. 20, the first anniversary of Obama's inauguration, is being promoted online through Facebook and Web sites run by various national Tea Party groups.

Check out their site at http//strike120.ning.com/ less than 600 members. It turns out it's got a couple of GOP operatives behind it. They don't get that these tea bag people are just as upset with them.

Yes some of these people are racist, some are conspiracy nuts or other tin foil hat types, but there is a subset that think that we are just constantly getting shafted no matter which side is in power.

What a dumb idea! The idea of not buying
anything, staying home from work. They do that
anyway, don't they? Employers should let them
know that they will be fired asap if they were to
attempt to shut down businesses. It would probably
do a the most damage in the south....

If a teabagger skips out on work or whatever it is that most of them normally do with their time, will anybody really notice?

On another note, from what I've seen, most of them don't seem able to articulate exactly what it is that they are protesting and why. Sure they say they want smaller government and less taxes and the usual talking points, but they cannot seem to follow those hollow statements up with any statements of substance, or an original thought either, for that matter. Nope, not an original thought among the whole bunch of them.
