Stewart Vows To Annoy John McCain: His 'Old Man Crankiness Has Gone Off The Charts' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Puppet John McCain Makes His 'Daily Show' Debut

On Wednesday night's "Daily Show," Jon Stewart took his love of mocking Senator John McCain to new levels Not only did Stewart claim that his "old man crankiness" had "gone off the charts," but debuted a McCain puppet character to the show a la Michael Steele.

After making mention of White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs leaving after two years, Obama's now famous flip-flops photo and the incoming class of congressional freshmen, Stewart remembered his favorite "senior senator" McCain and how he's changed:

"McCain stands now less a paragon of straight talk and independence for new members to admire, and more like an object lesson of how f---ing mad someone gets when they don't get their way."

To prove his point, Stewart showed clips from the Arizona senator's response after "Don't Ask Don't Tell" was repealed. Stating it was "a sad day," McCain showed odd signs of class resentment when he talked about there being "high fives all over the liberal bastions of America" and in the "salons of Georgetown."

"Liberal bastions? Salons of Georgetown?" Stewart asked. "What decade are you living in Washington? The reason Catherine Graham doesn't invite you to hor d'ourves with the French ambassador anymore is she died 10 years ago."

Stewart declared that McCain had gone "full 'Gran Torino'" and vowed that he would stop at nothing to annoy him, beginning with launching a segment called "Let's All Stand On John McCain's Lawn."

And then, the world met Puppet Sen. John McCain. Watch the rest of the clip to see this new felt "Daily Show" guest (who is likely to return) and the endless complaints and insults he hurls at Stewart. For example, Puppet McCain did not appreciate the set's lighting:

"The lights are too bright and it's burning my skin! You're gong to make me look like a Mexican. BUILD THE DAMN FENCE!"
