A previous post in this space implied incorrectly that an unnamed soldier's wife, shown in a photo included with the article, had conceived their baby while he was deployed on a 12-month tour. Other reports at the time clearly indicate that the couple conceived the child while he was home on leave. The article and photograph have been removed from the site. We regret the error.
