"We've got a great show for you tonight. I have no idea what time it will air - but it's going to be a great show," Conan said during his monologue last night. O'Brien addressed rumors that he might be pushed back to 12:05am to accommodate Leno who is likely losing his 10pm slot -- a topic he stayed mum on last night while Jay dove right in.
In the following bit, Conan lists the rumors he's heard about his late-night future. "NBC is going to throw me and Jay in a pit with sharpened sticks. The one who crawls out gets to leave NBC," he quipped. "That is an appealing proposition." Despite a list of ridiculous rumors, that last one rang true and was by far the most pointed. This declaration comes on the heels of news that Fox may want Conan if he chooses to leave NBC, a network he was part of 17 years before getting to host the "Tonight Show."
