Charlie Sheen Tapes First Post-Arrest Show

PASADENA, Calif. — Charlie Sheen is back at work at "Two and a Half Men," and his producer said Saturday that the audience at the actor's first show taping since his arrest on felony and other charges was "incredibly supportive."

Sheen taped an episode of the top-rated CBS comedy on Friday. He was arrested Christmas Day in Aspen, Colo., on suspicion of domestic violence and other charges. Sheen's wife, Brooke, told police he put a knife to her throat, an accusation the actor denies. Attorneys say the couple wants to reconcile.

Sheen showed up at work Monday and rehearsals went well, said Chuck Lorre, the show's creator and executive producer. He said the incident wasn't ignored, but wouldn't say how it came up backstage. Lorre said Sheen seems to be doing as well as he can under the circumstances.

"We did a live show in front of a studio audience and it was a big success for us," Lorre said. "We just came back to work."

A day before the taping, Pitkin County Chief Deputy District Attorney Arnold Mordkin said that a Colorado judge ruled that Sheen must appear in person Feb. 8 for an Aspen hearing on suspicion of felony menacing, domestic violence and other charges.

Hanesbrands Inc., meanwhile, said it is ending its advertising campaign featuring Sheen. Company spokesman Matt Hall said the seriousness of the allegations against the 44-year-old actor made the decision necessary.

The "Two and a Half Men" production schedule was not altered because of the incident, he said.

Nina Tassler, CBS entertainment president, said the network has been "very sensitive to the fact that this is a very personal and private matter for Charlie."

CBS took the same "the show must go on" tack last fall when David Letterman admitted to affairs with staff members following an alleged extortion attempt.

Neutering is in order for the acting alone. And probably for anyone dim enough to watch it.

hmmm its funny that we can cut Charlie some slack but not say Chris Brown...I wonder why! We are still talking about Tiger and his affairs that threatened no one...but this guy holds a KNIFE to his wife's throat and its under the rug in 2 days. Oh America home of the double standards...I don't know why black people just don't get that we are NOT the SAME and will not be treated the same regardless of how far we think we have advanced!..back to work and all...and the audience was supportive?!?! yeah ok! they wouldn't even sell Chris Brown's CD in some stores.

There are no videos or photos of Sheen's wife with scars, injuries, or even her crying. Quite frankly, I dont know Chris Brown and I dont like his music. Two and a Half Men is beloved with Emmys, years of reruns, and Sheen is a comic actor. He's known primary for humor, though his dramatic roles were also acclaimed.
Sheen also has a history of being 'bad', so more people are used to it.

Quite frankly. He said/she said criminal cases are far less certain of guilt than a woman victim with facial contusions and hematomas.

As for Tiger, the media has killed Tiger, not the people. People are tired of hearing about his situation.

So because tthere are no photo or pictures does this ome dismiss the action? This is also not his first offense but that really doesn't seem to matter either. So because Charlie's show is so grand and great that somehow overrides anything else...ok we get it double standards, race and all.

Which makes one wonder...

I would have been outta there in seconds.
What kind of woman would go back to a guy after something like this.
And if it isn't true, what kind of woman would tell that kind of lie.
I have no excuses for Charlie.
If he did this he should be prosecuted & convicted.

This show was never funny. Now, it will be even less funnier than that. But, Charlie is white and the public will soon forgive him.
04:45 AM on 01/11/2010
Sure, the show was never funny. That's why its only one of the top rated shows every season. And what is with the racial jab. That was completely unnecessary.

Unnecessary but oh so true. Got anything to refute it?

Seems like Charlie needs a little privacy if you ask me, his very public divorce from his previous wife, his repeated trips to rehab and now this latest debaucle http://movies09.com/2010/01/06/charlie-sheen-and-wife-on-cocaine-binge-before-fight-says-tabloid/ how is a person supposed to survive when every move they make is under the microscope. We all have skeletons, lets let him live his life and be supportive of him as an actor if not of him as a person.

After some people get over a million bucks they need a state-ordered nanny. Chaperone.

Call 'em a bodyguard if you like.

Some big, strong, unemployed guy (or woman) who is with them darn near 24x7 to keep them out of trouble.

Well I guess he'll have a little more insight and life experience to bring to his well rounded, deep TV sitcom character.

Oh wait... There is no such thing.

I used to watch, and I did laugh, but I started to feel like it was the same joke over and over again. I do wonder though if he feels shame or any ackwardness about his situation, or if he's so ego driven, it doesn't bother him. It didn't seem to bother his wife, that everyone knew she was drunk on Christmas morning, she was out smiling on the ski slopes the next day. Celebrity is a strange animal, who knows how they think. I just finished reading Kathy Griffin's book for fun, and if you believe her, their lives are all bulls@!t.

Why has Sheen gotten a pass and Tiger Woods has been vilified?

Because Woods was in the wrong and he admitted it. Let alone all of the women who cam forward busting him.

Sheen has been accused, but he should be innocent until being proven guilty.
03:44 PM on 01/10/2010
Isn't he entitled to a trial first? Maybe he didn't do it. Wait until we hear the evidence.

Given the wife's issues you make a lot of sense. Not every woman that cries wolf is a victim.
