Clooney

George Clooney accepted the best actor award at the New York Film Critic's Circle Awards on Monday night, but he used his time on stage as a presenter to poke fun at Mariah Carey.

According to People:

During his first trip to the podium, to present best animated film to his Mr. Fox director Wes Anderson, Clooney commented about the fact that his dinner wasn't served until hours after his drinks were.

"I got the chicken about five minutes ago, so I'm Mariah Carey f---ed up right now," he joked, referring to Carey's rambling speech at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Jan. 5.

Watch the Carey speech here and read how she admitted she been sloshing champagne.

And read on People what Elisabetta says about dating George and see photos of their night.

There's no sport in making fun of Mariah and it wasn't funny to boot.
George just looked old and mean.

Dont't blame George. Mariah has set herself up for jokes. Wait until SNL get a hold of her.

You hear all the time about people who are in the spotlight making mistakes or being a little drunk during a speech, what you don't hear about is how hard they actually have to work to get to where they are. It's not all fun and games and that's what people should remember, if Clooney decides to poke a little fun at a fellow entertainer while picking up an award http://movies09.com/2010/01/12/george-clooney-and-elisabetta-canalis-pick-up-a-trophy-in-ny/ as long as it's in good taste, which it was, then everyone should leave it at that. Congrats to George on his wins and kudos to you for having class.

She wasn't drunk. She had obviously been smoking pot. Which I think is worse, because it means that she can break the laws she wants to break because she's a celebrity and she's special.

Notwithstanding it was a funny remark. But don't say she was drunk. It's a big difference because alcohol is legal. What she was on is not.

So her talking about sloshing champagne was all a coverup so she could use the insidious illegal drug marijuana?

Wow, I have no idea what the point of your post was other than some "I hate celebs and pot" statement of some kind.

Oh no !! It was against the law !!
02:13 PM on 01/13/2010
It wasn't obvious to me that she had been smoking 'pot'.
You must know more about it.

Wow, lost of Mariah Carey fans coming out of the woodwork, and totally overreacting

Almost as funny as making fun of Charlton Heston for getting Alzheimers disease. That was a real scream.

George Clooney is what's wrong with American film.

The guy is such an empty suit; Warren Beatty has deeper thoughts than he does.

Edward G. Robinson made a comment about Bogart that can be used for Clooney. Robinson said he begin feeling sorry for Bogart when Bogart began believing his own press releases.

WTF are you thinking Clooney?

Wrong move don't make fun of others when there are things about yourself that you would not care for the public, namely your fans too know.
11:14 PM on 01/13/2010
You are SOOO correct. At least Mariah is out about who she is.

He looks good. His skin looks better than it did 10 years ago. Botox? Peel? In any case. He has done the perfect amount. Enough to look refreshed but not freakish at all. I've never had a peel but maybe when I'm in my 40's I will. I just don't want my skin to look melted.

He's a real jokester.

years ago he would have been an unknown character actor but since presently we have no real movie stars, and there is still so much money involved, we have the hollywood created Clooney

He soon forgets his drunken days and bragged about them. When he and Danny DeVito drank the night away a couple of years ago; DeVito went on Letterman (I think it was Letterman) still drunk and totally untidy and his speech was unrecognizable because of still being drunk. Clooney defended it with humor a couple of days after on another show. Remember that George Clooney? When did you become so perfect, sir.
In fact you are just as bad as Woods, you are a total womanizer. Yeap, you get that award, sir.
08:26 AM on 01/13/2010
He most certainly is NOT as bad as Tiger Woods; George is smart enough not to MARRY the golddiggers.
08:27 AM on 01/13/2010
It was a joke. Lighten up.

Low class to publicly humiliate people
08:29 AM on 01/13/2010
And if they need it? Then what?
09:40 AM on 01/13/2010
They already humiliate themselves. They don't need someone else in the business to assist.

However, it was a bad move on Clooney's part.
