Conan Plays 'Deal Or No Deal' To Figure Out His Next Career Move (VIDEO)

First Posted: 03/18/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 04:10 PM ET

Before Conan O'Brien leaves the Tonight Show, he's squeezing in a few more jokes about the whole mess.

Rumors circulated in Hollywood that he would walk away on Tuesday in the wake of his rift with NBC. That apparently left the network scrambling for a guest host.

But instead of packing his bags, Conan decided to open one. Howie Mandel, host of Deal Or No Deal, brought along his famous suitcases -- and some models -- to help Conan decide what to do next.

This is a tragedy that a talent like Conan should be treated like this. If the 10:00 was not working out with Leno, he's the one that should be leaving the line-up. Leno was okay but I got tired of his style and jokes.
Conan remains youthful and risky while Jay is very last decade.
This is very unfair, and I will not be watching Jay Leno, even if all this is not entirely his fault..
I will miss Conan.

This segment ALONE is funnier than anything Jay Leno does......

Oddly, this time in his life may be Conan's finest comedic hour.

Conan is definitely taking the high road while having some fun at NBC's expense. It's a great time to be a late-night fan! Even though this whole thing boils down to money and how much Conan will eventually get, Conan has not diminished the importance of The Tonight Show. By not taking marching orders from NBC, he is demanding that the network to honor this legendary program. The TS is a program that no one should ever consider moving to a new time slot just because some wall-eyed blockheaded executives feel like playing a shell game! Innovation and change are important in television, but so is honoring the integrity of a successful franchise. NBC has treated Conan like no one important, but he is the one guy in this fiasco who actually understands the importance of honoring one of the best-loved programs that has ever been on TV. Jay and NBC don't deserve The TS if they can only treat it like an ATM.

NBC won't move the show back to NYC

I wasn't serious.

And even if I was, Colbert could move to LA.

One of the things that Johnny did occasionally was to let the band do a number on the show.

Cheers to Conan for standing up to careless corporate pigs and wish him well. But I will add that his show was very mediocre and undynamic, so not surprised or sorry to see him go. Hopefully this episode will put some fire and energy into his performance and show wherever he may land.

I am looking forward to the HBO movie. I want to play Any Richter, but he'll be looking for work, so he'll play himself.
