Haiti Earthquake

NEWARK, N.J. — One of two New Jersey church groups traveling in Haiti has survived the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck the Caribbean nation, and a member of the second says that group may be OK as well.

The stepdaughter of the pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Hackettstown says Frank Fowler called a church member in New Jersey on Wednesday to say the group survived the disaster.

The 15-member group, which includes two high school students, traveled to Haiti on a humanitarian mission to provide birth kits, diapers and other supplies, Fowler's wife, Karen, said Wednesday.

Later, a member of a Mercer County church group sent a text message to her sister-in-law to say she was OK. She wasn't able to call or immediately provide more details. Up to 20 people are in that group.

Please do not send money to christian organizations. They would use the money for proselytizing instead of the needy,

Can you give me a list of Islamic charities I can give to? Ones that have staff and ongoing ops on the ground in haiti? I'd be happy to give to a group like that, a song as I can be sure the money doesn't go to Hamas.

Those Islamic charities are not better.

Simply give to Red Cross. That org has much better transperency.

It's not typical. The UN has been known to sell food aid to children in exchange for s ex, and they've been caught doing this in several countries. But I'm not telling people to refrain from giving to the UN, because I hope this isn't typical.

Christian groups go in because Muslim oil princes are too busy going to the horse races and shopping for yachts to do one little thing to help. Turkey gave more money to help the families of suicide bombers than they gave to Muslim tsunami victims.

Get back to me when Islam steps up to the plate and does something to help. I'd love to give money to one of their groups, if there are any effective ones, and if I can be sure the money won't go to help te r ro rist groups, like so many Islamic charities do.
