'Lovely Bones' Movie Is 'Disappointing Adaptation' Of The Alice Sebold Novel

In the disappointing adaptation of "The Lovely Bones," director Peter Jackson runs wild with the CGI, a ludicrous decision that sucks the emotion out of Alice Sebold's intimate novel.

Perhaps the bigger issue, though, is the novel itself. Sebold's unforgettable story, while mesmerizing on the page, defies being turned into a movie.
