From Andy Warhol to Katie Couric to Bill Clinton, the most famous of famous could be seen at New York's legendary Tavern on the Green throughout it's storied life.

While the restaurant will be auctioned off, piece by piece, over the next few days, the Tavern in Central Park will forever hold a special place in New York, and American, history.

Did Tavern on the Green appear in "Ghostbusters", or am I confusing it with another restaurant?

I worked at Tavern over thirty years ago when I was newly arrived in NYC. One of my favorite celebrity moments involved Rock Hudson. Management routinely called newspapers to send photographers when a famous person was present, though they denied it. Mr. Hudson was dining in the Crystal Room with three other gentlemen. The photographer asked if she could take a picture, but Mr. Hudson said no. She walked away, but then crawled around between tables and took a picture anyway. Rock Hudson stood up, took a swing at her camera and shouted, "You f***ing bi*ch!" She ran from the room. Hudson apologized to the entire room and received an ovation.
