Brittany Murphy

people.com:

"She had a little bit of a cold," says Murphy's mother Sharon of the days leading up to the actress's death. "You could never in a billion years imagine this happening."

Despite rumors that have swirled since her passing, both Sharon Murphy and Brittany's husband, Simon Monjack, say the 32-year-old did not suffer from mental illness, use drugs or have an eating disorder. "Do you not think anybody would have picked up on this anorexic, mentally deranged person?" Monjack tells PEOPLE. "It's ludicrous."

..and crack.

Some of you guys are really naive. How many of these folks have to die of overdoses before you get the reality of these celebs? Heath? Marlyn? MJ? The dude that sold stuff on latenight tv? And then you combine w/ a person who withholds proper nutrition and two plus two equals two.

It equals four, actually.

That, and crack, prescription pain killers, vodka, and diet pills.
But mostly life.

Tox report due out soon right?

My guess? She had bipolar. That's what the prescriptions point to.

It'd be much better if her mom just told the truth if it is as it appears, a lot of stigma surrounds mental illness and stuff like this is why.

SO TRAGIC. A YOUNG GIRL WITH SUCH PROMISE AND SO MUCH FUTURE IN FRONT OF HER. HOLLYWOOD HAS DESTROYED HOW MANY YOUNG WOMEN!?

Actually, we do know what medications were at her bedside: Topamax (anti-seizure medications also to prevent migraines)- Methylprednisolone (anti-inflammatory)- Fluoxetine (depression medication)- Klonopin (anxiety medication)- Carbamazepine (treats Diabetic symptoms and is also a bipolar medication)- Ativan (anxiety medication)- Vicoprofen (pain reliever)- Propranolol (hypertension, used to prevent heart attacks)- Biaxin (antibiotic) Hydrocodone (pain medication)- Vitamins.

If you don't think not eating and then mixing some of the above couldn't cause you to faint/aspirate, choke on your own vomit and die, then you're not thinking. And mixing Ativan, Klonopin (highly addictive) with Propranolol could stop your heart---especially if you already had a congenital heart problem

Prescription drugs are BAD people. There's no reason for her to be on all this stuff at the age of 32. And PS: Ambien is a bullsh*t drug as well. Stop taking it.

Although it's not wise to take Ativan (lorazepam) and Klonapin (clonazepam) together, I don't think normal doses of these meds with propanolol (In a normal dose) is likely to stop anyone's heart. She had a lot of meds in the house. We don't actually know whether or not she was taking all of them at the time of her death. The corticosteroid (methylprednisolone) and the antibiotic (Biaxin) were likely for the respiratory infection that she had. The toxicology report will tell all.

i was sad when i heard the news of her passing. it doesn't matter to me HOW she died, she is dead...and that is sad, as she really was an under-rated talent, she added believability to her characters and was quite likable.

why is everyone so negative about her, even if she did have an addiction (and died because of it)...why are we so quick to forgive some and others, we want to lambast into their grave...???

Agreed. She was 32. Even if she overused prescription meds and/or had an eating disorder it's a tragedy that she died.

I'm glad that you have an inside source, because I don't. I'm actually going to wait for the toxicology reports.

None of the listed drugs found in Ms. Murphy's home are good for getting high.

I really wish the toxicology would come out to shut up the 'spin' on it. The mean comments I see just seem heartless in the face of her mothers grief.

She was a really good actress. I'll miss her at the movies....I enjoyed her work and really think she was a bright star that burned out far too quickly...for whatever reason...

..My daughter and I enjoyed her very much in Uptown Girls with Dakota Fanning.
She was an actress that had really good range to play all sorts of characters and she will be missed.

She really DID have a great range....she certainly hadn't peaked yet. We were so looking forward to more of her singing in Happy Feet 2.

She left behind some great work . Atta girl.
