Conan Rally

LAist:

Around three to four hundred hardcore Conan O'Brien fans braved the drenching rain to rally for the Tonight Show outside Universal Studios this afternoon. "Jay Leno sucks!" the crowd chanted in between screaming at passing by cars as horns were honked. Packed to capacity, people spilled out onto Lankershim Boulevard before police calmed and spread the crowd out.

HEY! _VASTLY_ larger rally in the heavy, pouring rain, than they got on a clear autum day in D.C. for the most recent Tea Party!

Way to go, Conan!

Yeah, where were all these so-called fans when he needed the ratings? You have to actually WATCH the show to make it a hit, people.

Oh come on, a VAST majority of Conan's audience watches from the web/HULU which ratings can't take into account. For some reason, even though NBC/Universal owns HULU they don't take into account the hits on the various show page along with the daily numbers.

Conan always had a strong core following, enough to keep him on the air for 17 years, and be courted by several networks that wound up making NBC give him "Tonight".

The trick was to temper his act for middle america and the older audience. (ie: remove the masterbating bear, Triumph The Insult Comic Dog, and Pimpbot 5000) if he had the 18 months Jay had when he was getting CREAMED by Letterman when Jay took over from Carson, you'd see a huge success.

We'll soon see how it plays when fox gives him 11:00pm, or even 10:30pm.

Conan had a TV show that depended on TV ratings to attract TV advertising...

Too bad for Conan this rampant Conan-mania wasn't around before this whole controversy started...

oops i mean.. Business people SHOULD NOT be telling artists how to create. Also that letter Conan wrote connect because it was genuine. When something is true it rings true. People are so used to being fed bologna that it was a breath of fresh air. It was inspiring enough, and ballsy enough to mobilize people.

Leno has been piling on the lies and hypocrisy!

Too many are buying into NBC's PR machine which has every intention
of rewriting history!

Don't be swayed, check out the following link to read of Leno's
deceit:

I should think that these people would have something better to do with their time. Helping a multi-millionaire keep his teevee show seems a little trivial.

Definitely not as important as posting in a comment thread on a website.
