Though the debut of Apple's mythical tablet at the company's invitation-only special event next week and the rapture with which it will inevitably be met obviate the need for a closing "One More Thing" announcement, Apple (AAPL) may deliver one anyway. Three, actually.

iPhone OS 4.0. And the iPhone 4G -- on Verizon (VZ).

That's the word from Canaccord Adams analyst Peter Misek who believes there's "a good chance" we'll hear about all three come next Wednesday.

If this is true Verizon should announce it soon so that those of us on ATT with contracts expiring don't resign and maybe start moving back to Verizon early.

I am still skeptical about that, the iPhone is worldwide, and they are all GSM phones, why make a CDMA phone for one carrier? Will that sell that many more phones to make up for the cost? While I think they will sell more, is it enough.

And last time I checked, Verizon didn't have a 4G network, only Sprint does (very limited).

Verizon has more than 60 million customers, ATT approx 62 million. ATT has had the iPhone for 3 years and the first weekend of the 3G sold over a million. Verizon will probably sell over 3 million on the first weekend.
