The bone worms are here in Monterey?! I'm gonna have to find out more about them.

I propose naming the bone worms after Jerry Garcia and Connie Hines.

Max my Samoyed waiting for a handout. I need to adjust the light, heal out the dust spots on the scan and the drool but it's not a bad image.

Several years ago when I lived in Gainesville, Florida; my friends and I would go tubing at Ichitucknee Springs. Around sunset every evening a doe would make the rounds of the campsites with her two fawns foraging for cigarette butts. Apparently tobacco, which used to grow wild throughout the southeast, is good for the deer's digestion. We gathered cigarette butts from the ground and soon we had both the doe and her two fawns eating from our hands. They were like machines, taking in the butts, stripping them of paper and tobacco and then spitting the foam rubber filters, stripped clean, back into our hands. Although there was no hunting allowed in the park, the buck would hang back in the brush, watching from about ten feet from the edge of the vegetation. I could feel there hearts fluttering from the blood coursing through the veins in their necks as they allowed me to pet them. I know that there are petting zoos that feature domesticated deer, but there is something amazing about having a wild animal allow you to pet it.

Considering some of the stuff we eat, I'm not sure we can really be too critical. ;-)

Did you see the slideshow posted yesterday or the day before where people ate spiders and stuff? This is way more appealing to the eye ;)

my cat eats some really poisonous house plants, with no ill effects.. she also likes tomato sauce.

Isn't it weird? If I make tomato soup my cat will eat whatever is left over. I don't understand lol.

Dogs will eat other animal's poop when they smell something that they aren't getting enough of in their regular diet. A lot of dogs are drawn to cat poop because their food usually contains a lot of fatty fish oils, which aren't as abundant in most dog foods. You might try mixing small amounts of cat food into their dog food, but my vet has cautioned against giving them too much cat food because it is richer than most dog foods and can give your dogs the runs.

Fortunately, I do not have a photo but one day while cleaning up the yard, I found a poo with a chinese fortune paper sticking out of it! Someone stole a fortune cookie the previous night!

My cat likes carrots (shredded), mushrooms, black olives, peas, corn, and pretty much anything else I give him. I thought it was just him, but I got another cat, and she eats everything he eats. Omnivorous felines!
