'Celebrity Rehab' fixture Jeff Conaway can't kick his prescription drug habit and wants to die at home, his girlfriend, Vikki Lizzi, tells E! News.

"This is just devastating," Lizzi said. "I tried to save him from himself by trying to get him help...He wants to die at home. He knows the meds are killing him. He can't get off them."

The former 'Grease' star, 59, is even telling Lizzi about what he imagines for his funeral.

"He's talking about being burned on a boat and sent out to sea like a Viking funeral. It sends chills up my spine," she said. "We're all trying to save his life, and he's not listening."

Two years ago Conaway said that Scientology, which his 'Grease' costar John Travolta introduced him to, helped him get clean. Lizzi told E! that Travolta sent Conaway flowers this week and Dr. Drew has been consulting with him, but he is stubborn and needs and intervention.

This is when I shut off the tv. When our culture becomes saturated with these pathetic losers, who have ever opportunity to pull it together but sit around and s**t there pants all day. ENOUGH!

Since most of the world knows that he is a drug addict, the question I have is, where is he getting the drugs that he continues to take? Are doctors still writing him scripts, and if so, why?

He needs to be placed in a controlled environment for about a year. If someone is killing themselves with drugs I would say he is a danger to himself. He has proven this is so. The way this country works as soon as he tells a mental health professional he won't take drugs anymore they would let him go.

Regulations have taken all the fun out of a Viking funeral

Got to worry about flotation devices on the boat, running lights if you do it at night (which would be best). Then you got to get burn permits, argue with someone about the pollution

Seems more trouble than it's worth

Damn! This man needs all the prayers he can get. He looks 79 instead of 59 and he's talented. It's sad to see someone, at that point in life, just give into drugs like this. He's a tale of what can happen to you.

Jeff is a fighter, and a trooper, and he will pull through. Never give up, knowing Jeff personally I still believe he has years of sobriety ahead of him. Me thinks the real problem is acheem that turtle of a girlfriend that feeds him drugs, leeches of his celebrity, and lives in her parents garage. Vikky Lizzy has got to go. Seriously with her, and Scientology out of the picture Jeff has a great chance to get well and stay well. Shalom

If he wants all that stuff, first he needs a JOB to pay for the funeral expenses and some life insurance.

Maybe it's a Scientology "tradition" to send flowers before someone kicks it.

Kind of a shame. Back pain can just be incredibly debilitating and make even thinking difficult much less doing physical activity.

Don't know what to tell him or anyone else, but I sure hope their is more medical research particularly through gene therapy and stem cell research whether from embroyos or adult cells. There should be NO restrictions on any kind of stem cell research.

Maybe it will come in time to save his and millions of other's lives.

It is a lot easier to never start an addiction to anything than it is to stop it. Wake up and get help other than drugs, food, cigaretts even gambling. Be glad for what you have and not feeling sorry for what you don't have.

A responsible physician would not continue to prescribe addictive medications to someone with a known dependence on them.

Actually yeah he would if the pain medication is what keeps him sane and able to function in any way besides doing nothing but think about pain.

There is nothing wrong with taking pain meds if that is all you can do to keep yourself able to function in any way shape or form.

Hmmm...interesting...a fictional character has no problems with drug addiction.

Who would have believed it?

Sherlock Holmes is not real he's a fictional character. Jeff Conaway is a real person with real problems.

I sincerely hope he finds away out of this very bad dilema. Drug addiction is one of the most devastating things that can happen to a human being. It completely takes over their lives. They spend every waking moment in some sort of allegiance to it. It destroys not only them but their familles. Truly he needs help, whether or not he has the strength to get it is the answer.
