Andy Dick Arrested for Sexual Abuse

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Actor and comedian Andy Dick has been charged with two felony counts of sexual abuse in West Virginia.

Dick was arraigned Saturday afternoon in Cabell County Magistrate Court. Court documents say he's accused of grabbing a bouncer's crotch and groping and kissing a male patron earlier in the morning at a bar in Huntington. Magistrate Patty Verbage Spence set bail at $60,000.

"Andy is stunned by these allegations and we are strongly denying any criminal conduct," Dick's attorney, Jeff Rubenstein, said in a statement.

Spence set a Feb. 2 hearing for the 44-year-old Dick, who was in Huntington to perform at the Funny Bone Comedy Club. Funny Bone managing partner Tom Schaefer posted Dick's bail and said Dick is "absolutely still on the schedule for Saturday and Sunday."

For the folks who have never met Andy Dick, he acts exactly like you'd assume he would. This isn't schtick, this is the way he really behaves. He's unwantedly groped my buddy, so I would only assume that wasn't the first time.

There is some truly flawed reasoning on display here. Several people appear to be making this argument:

If I am a heterosexu­al man and make no complaint about being groped by a woman, yet reject that same advance from a man, I am by some perverted logic a "homophobe­".

NO! I am a person exercising my clear right of choice to welcome an advance from a woman (the definition of heterosexu­al) while rejecting the advances of a man.

Have I lost my right to free choice because I happen to be heterosexu­al? I openly support the gay rights movement, particular­ly your right to marriage as YOU define it. Am I not entitled to define my own sexuality, as well?

NOBODY should have to tolerate the invasion of their privacy or person by unwelcome sexual advances. The sexual orientatio­n of the perpetrato­r AND the victim are totally moot points.

So true. I thought that story about the reporter grabbing Beckham's crotch was horrible, especially the fact that anyone thought it was funny.

I don't know what the law in Italy is (where the incident took place) but I don't think any guy, no matter how famous or how public a figure, even if he's known for his "package" (as Beckham is to some extent,) should have to endure an assault anywhere on their body, let alone his groin, by some drunk/craz­y stranger they don't even know.

As for Andy Dick, a good case can probably be made by anyone who knows him or came in contact with him that they are irreparabl­y damaged for life.

There are certain people you just want to stay away from. Andy Dick is one of them. I have been involved in the selling of one or two AD projects and the outtakes are ... revealing.

I harken back to my relationsh­ip with a journalist who I met composing songs for radio plays. Nice guy then but in his new role he had sort of a grouchy reputation­. I saw him at the old Lingerie club and approached him.

I took one look in ONE of his eyes and said to myself. "Self, DON'T TALK TO HIM." (he has two eyes he just glanced at me over his shoulder) About a decade later I found out he had more than just a grouchy reputation over his journalist­ic musings. He is nearly universall­y blamed for... then you would know who he was. Not a good guy to hang with. Same with Dick.

there are a lot of men and women who are saying the same thing. He seems to do this sort of thing on a regular basis and then someone wants to shout "HOMOPHOBI­A" when he rarely actually faces arrest or charges.
