I'm so happy that the young man at the Napolito is OK. Iremember the teams going to the Montana at first and returning to it each day, totally by passing whole middle-class neighborhoods. The people wrote messages on bed sheets about needing water for the children, hung them on buildings, and light poles, begging. They were bypassed altogether. Not very Humanitarian!

OT - but if anyone is interested -

I found a reputable charity, where you can sponsor one of the Haitian orphans for as little as $15.00 per month.

It's called SOS Children's Villages, and, if you click on the link, you can find all the information about the charity, etc.

https://secure2.convio.net/scv/site/Donation2?df_id=5140&5140.donation=form1

Can you do me a favour, and pass the link on to anyone you think might be interested.

I will be sponsoring from their UK website, which is this link.

it is really upsetting to see the aerial shots of the city
because you know that there are still people alive under the concrete rubble

but nobody has found them yet

They just pulled a young guy out of the Montana Hotel alive today. He was a clerk there. People are still alive. He's okay. They need to keep looking for rescue.

I just hope search continues at the Montana HOTEL, among other places. Still hoping to hear that students buried in that buiding are probably alive. Such an awful occurence. Wish I could block it out. http://manchestersquare.blogspot.com/2010/01/hear-will-wisdom-blues.html

It is just impossible for me to imagine what it might be like being trapped by concrete for days and days with no water and no food, hurting and unable to cry for help.
