Elizabeth Warren Was Called To White House Day After Mass. Election

Meltdown Secrets

The Boston Globe:

ON THE day after Tuesday's electoral loss, the Obama administration brought an unfamiliar face to the White House - Elizabeth Warren, the Harvard Law professor noted for her staunch advocacy on behalf the middle class and fierce criticism of the bank bailouts. Perhaps the administration will take a more aggressive approach to Wall Street, along the lines of what Warren wants. But for Democrats to truly take ownership of the economic crisis, Warren will need to play a more prominent role. Not just her ideas, but the force of her personality is needed.

I adore this woman, however, as she said, "I'm a teacher." She should continue to advocate for the American people and forget the Senate. Both parties have melded into one and don't give one hoot for the American people. The health care debacle was a joke, with Senator's bending over to each and every request from their puppet master's, the corporations. Elizabeth Warren has grace, humility, intelligence and compassion and I drop everything, each and every time she is on my T.V. Can't we find more men and women of her status?

Blame Bush for this garbage. Its his fault.

She has no power and only a title. The real power lies in the financial industry and they are not going to allow anyone or anything to keep them from making billions. Congress and this President does not have the will to regulate their fat cats and their lobbies for the benefit of the people. They continue to laugh at us and go their merry way of buying off anything and anyone that gets in their way. Till our politicians are afraid of us at the polls than we get what we vote for. Nothing.

I hope she does not fall for the senate race! I want her in a policy position, not bogged down in intestate politics.

It was probably Rahm's idea to bring her to the White House so that he could personally browbeat her and threaten her into silence and inaction. That's the way the Obama-Rahm "administration" works. They are dedicated to failure and retaining all of the very worst aspects of the Cheney-Bush regime. So the likelihood is that they're getting ready to fire Warren while they double down on keeping Geithner, Summers and Bernanke. Obama-Rahm are not interested in improving the economic outlook for ordinary Americans, they want instead to perpetuate the current Depression because their corporate owners are making billions in government handouts and other scams to loot the treasury. Elizabeth Warren appears to not be a crook, so she really doesn't fit in with the rest of the Obama-Rahm Gang; she'll be gone soon.

I am afraid you are right. She is a short timer and they don't want to mess with the financial industry who is the goose that laid the golden egg right at their feet.

I have to disagree, I think they realize how close they came to choking that goose to death last year. IMO they may be finally hearing something from beyond the beltway, and it is not a happy sound.

She has risen in stature to the level of a possible future presidential candidate. If she is not put in a position of high level importance where she thinks she would have positive impact, I think she should resign from this fleabitten administration, write a book, open her own website, and prepare for her own candidacy for president.

I would sure be glad if she gets more power. But not as a senator. And maybe it is even better she is not entangled too much in this d.irty game so she can continue to speak truth to power.

Elizabeth Warren would be drowned out in Congress as Brooksley Born was when she wanted to regulate the derivatives market during the Clinton years. Some of the names of those who moved to stop her and sway Congress, Rubin, Summers, Greenspan, Geithner.

In the cycle of history repeating itself, one of the current voices that they had silenced was that of Elizabeth Warren but those moving to do it replaced Greenspan with Bernanke. Warren is a long standing champion of consumer protection and has written on the disappearing Middle Class and the need for it. Just as Brooksley Born tried to protect the public (Main Street), Elizabeth Warren is but hopefully she will finally be listened to by the White House. Of course, I hope her and Volcher watch their backs because Summers, Geithner and Bernanke will make sure there are loopholes that will let Wall Street concoct its next scheme.

That's why everyone is calling for Summers, Geithner and Bernanke to be replaced.

They're the problem.

I do not want her to be a senator, that is a demotion of a good person. I want her to run the CFPA or the treasury. People like her and Volcker have stood the test of time and must be recognized.

Elizabeth Warren is needed to run the Consumer Financial Protection Agency. It is her baby.

This is an obvious attempt to reduce her stature and power by wooing her to run for office.

i don`t trust Obama one bit after what he has done this last year.

She may be playing Colin Powell for the administration--from a safer seat than Powell had. Until Geithner goes, Elizabeth Warren is window dressing. I can't see how to reconcile his attitude with hers. If Bernanke stays put as well, then Warren will be playing Cassandra: always right, and never believed.

You honest to goodness think someone besides us is going to listen to the common sense this ethical woman speaks? How soon will she be dragged down being the only truth teller against too big to fail lyin sacks of what Ed Schulz claims to have called Gibby? If she is pulled in and then given no support against the boys club it'll be the same-o same-o. The power of the almighty dollar can even sway the SCOTUS, what chance do we have, even with her?

New euphemism: full of gibb

We'll see if anything comes of it. I do not see solid evidence of an economic course correction. I see theater.
