Carly Fiorina's Loan Gives Her Edge In California Senate Race

Carly Fiorina Fundraising

WASHINGTON — Carly Fiorina's $2.5 million loan to her U.S. Senate campaign has given the former Hewlett-Packard CEO a considerable financial edge over her Republican rivals.

In all, Fiorina's campaign had $2.75 million in the bank to begin the year, according to a federal disclosure report delivered Friday. She is one of three Republicans vying for the right to challenge California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer, who is seeking a fourth term.

One of Fiorina's GOP primary challengers, Chuck DeVore, had $226,364 cash on hand. The other, former congressman Tom Campbell, has to begin raising money after dropping his campaign for California governor Jan. 14.

All three Republicans have a lot of work ahead to catch up with Boxer, whose campaign estimates she has $7.2 million in the bank.

Carly needs to be challenged at every turn on rationale, reasons, issues, platforms, etc. that she supports and will be tested on everyday if she is elected. Carly DESPISES others. Ask he previous colleagues and subordinates at HP.. She'll do everything in her power and bulldoze over anyone that stands in her way to get this seat away from Boxer...

Carly is a BAD choice for ANY public office.

The lady that had to resign from her corporate CEO post for wiretapping her Board of Directors wants to be Governor?
For a lady she has huge balls.

What is it with the GOP and wiretaps?
They just like eavesdropping and living vicariously?

"Carly Fiorina's Loan Gives Her Edge In California Senate Race" - Absolutely. Now all she needs is somebody who thinks this failed business executive who never voted or was interested in politics and good government and who John McCain dumped as a campaign spokesperson is the right person to elect to replace the current office holder Barbara Boxer who has no plans to go anywhere. Just what California needs another egomaniacal Republican amateur to screw the state up.

I don't care who wins so long as someone replaces boxer.

So if she "loans" the money instead of donating it, and she fails to win -- he gets to write off the money as a business loss. If it were a donation, no write off. I am never going to donate money to political campaigns again, instead, I will require it to be a loan. Then I can write it off on my taxes.

No matter how much money she has, she will never win, except if the vote is extremely divided and CA does not require a 50% + run off.

Yes, but her haircut takes it away so it's already a non-story.

Carley's campaign slogan:

"I will do for California what I did for HP!"

"Millionaire Fiorina Called the Outsourcing of American Jobs "Right Shoring."

"When Fiorina became CEO in July, 1999, HP's stock price was $52 per share, and when she left 5 years later in February, 2005, it was $21 per share—a loss of over 60% of the stock's value."

Yeah, and if even McNutty fires you from his campaign, you know she isn't going to be able to handle the heat.

If the Rethugs are riding so high this year why is it that they have to keep on lending their campaigns money ? Whitman and Fiorina both having to cough up some cash just to stay in it. Maybe no body is buying what they're selling ?

Is she using her breast cancer to make people feel sorry for her and vote her in. California won't fall for that. Sick Republican.

She is. She is using Jesse Jackson, and other figurines from under the rock to position herself as human; she's too arrogant and lazy to even try to win on anything meritorius, and she sure should not be trusted with our State, in its precarious state.
