Blackwater Under Investigation For Iraqi Government Bribes

New York Times:

The Justice Department is investigating whether officials of Blackwater Worldwide tried to bribe Iraqi government officials in hopes of retaining the firm's security work in Iraq after a deadly shooting episode in 2007, according to current and former government officials.

The officials said that the Justice Department's fraud section opened the inquiry late last year to determine whether Blackwater employees violated a federal law banning American corporations from paying bribes to foreign officials.

If we don't put a complete stop to Xe/Blackwater soon we will be seeing these thugs on main street America delivering neocon version of justice on American citizens in the near future. This is not a dark fantasy folks. What is ironic is the fact that most of the good ole' folks shrieking about "death panels" last summer would volunteer to build those camps tomorrow if a Republican candidate gets into office and makes them feel they'll somehow be "safer from terrorists" if they follow that 1940's Germany script.

The sad reality is that Blackwater is patterned after the Bush and Cheney family businesses that have long lived off of war profiteering and all that goes with it: bribery, murder, no-bid contracts, government favoritism, dealing with the enemy, and treason.

Amazing, there is another investigation. Where do they think this investigation is going? I am sure it will not go far enough and the DOJ will find little conclusive evidence to the contrary.

That name “Blackwater” was an appropriate name for this shadowy group. “Blackwater,” dirty, murky, muddy, dark, secretive and deceptive, the name fitted them quite well. They can change their name to XE or whatever, but the slime still clings.

It's a shame that a few bad apples have ruined the reputation of such a fine company. Oh how I yearn for the day when the fine, upstanding men of Blackwater replace those sorry, UNIONIZED police forces on the streets of AnyTown, USA.
