Damn it. It's crap like this that cause all those who believe in half-assed stereotypes to suddenly jump out and point "SEE! LOOK THERE!" Whether he belonged to a very small branch or coven, or he was a sole extremist, it doesn't matter. His faith is nothing more than an excuse of a deeper psychological issue, e.g. he was already predisposed to this kind of radicalism.

His faith was merely a tool in this sense. But when these kind of stories crop up, you got a whole group of demon-obsessed pagan-hating zealots who are ready to pounce on it as divine truth that all Wiccans, or whatever pagan faith, are inherently evil. And it makes things that much harder on the rest of us.

He should be seen as a man who was overly-jealous about nothing, tried to force her to be subservient and acknowledge him and him alone, and when she didn't, he snapped, and is obviously psychologically unbalanced. Nothing more, nothing less.

His religion was an excuse for violence, just as it has been for all of history. Religion, yes, even Christianity, does NOT cause violence; the already-violent, cause violence.

That being said, it is a shame when stories like this happen, because there was a chance it could have been prevented.

I think the jokes made against this lady are pretty sick. At the end of the day, you have a woman murdered, mutilated and burned.

The religion part of it is probably not a factor. From the man's past, he has a history of violence. It's a shame. I wish I could understand what makes women stay. A lady I've known for years was recently murdered by her husband. She seemed to have everything else in her life together but she stayed with him, knowing he was unstable and possibly dangerous. She paid for that choice by by being held hostage and shot in the head.

I also hate to see another story of violence related to Wicca. Some of the most peaceful, kindest people I've ever met were Wiccans. I suppose that doesn't sell advertising space, though!

Probably, but the only way to prove she really was one is for her not to be killable in the first place. Warlocks can generally take care of themselves. Ergo, she was probably just a civilian.
