Michael Jackson Doctor Conrad Murray
Michael Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray, is ready to surrender to authorities in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES — A source tells The Associated Press that Michael Jackson's doctor is set to be arraigned on Friday.

Dr. Conrad Murray is set to be arraigned Friday afternoon at a courthouse near Los Angeles International Airport, according to a person familiar with the planning but who declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the situation.

Prosecutors have declined to say when or whether they will charge Murray. Two law enforcement sources have told the AP that prosecutors plan to charge Murray with involuntary manslaughter. The officials requested anonymity because they are not authorized to publicly discuss the case.

Murray and his legal team said Wednesday they have not received word about a decision from the district attorney. Attorney Ed Chernoff says his client will surrender if charged.

"We" don't have a problem...."THEY" have a problem.
I don't remember John Belushi or Jim Morrison ever asking for my opinion.
Mel Gibson never tweeted me before taking a 2-ounce shot of Irish whiskey.
I won't sign up for collective and generalized guilt. Go ahead if it pleases you.

The LAPD did not declare anything, anything. It was the coroner and the District Attorney.

I am the bggest MJ fan but i think manslaughter is sufficient. The Doctor had no mal intent towards MJ. He made a mistake that cost a great man his life. I think his license should be revoked and that he should serve some jail time (because what he did was wrong) but i don't think he should spend decades behind bars.

MJ we all still miss you, some more than others, you were a great talent that was gone too soon. RIP

I don't see how he could be charged with more than manslaughter. There was nothing intentional. Of course, he should have seen Michael's death coming. Using propofol at home for insomnia is unheard of and it's playing russian roulette with your life. If Michael wanted propofol, it's the physician's duty to say no.

Manslaughter seems appropriate to me.

Dr Murray is a loser and so is any other physician that knowingly gives narcotics to a known or suspected addict. Money and fame be damned. And Deepak Chopra is a loser too. Michael's body wasn't even cold befroe he was on his publicity tour talking about how he tried to help Michael.....how come he wasn't in front of the cameras trying to get his "friend" some help, when he was still breathing. One good thing about not being wealthy, at least we know the people around us are there because they generally care about us.......and not because we can bring them 15 minutes of whatever......

Wow...a cool million dollars in judgments against you and a "team" of lawyers to defend you.
What a Country!.... he is a failure as a doctor and a businessman but he failed upwards it seems.

Doctors are never responsible.

I personally do not think that we need to see too many more entertainers dying from alcohol and drug overdoses to face up to the fact that "we have a problem." And that there are plenty of people out there who are willing to "ignore" what's flowing out of the doorways of their pharmacies; what's really happening to the drugs they prescribe. People are very regularly being made stone-cold dead by this monstrous thing.

I think that the LAPD did a very correct, if gutsy, thing by declaring Jackson's death "a homicide," instead of sweeping it under the rug as happened so long ago in the equally famous case of Elvis Presley. (Itself a case that I think should be reconsidered: there is no statute of limitations on murder.)

As to Dr. Murray himself, yes: he shall be "presumed innocent" unless and until convicted by a jury of his peers. But I think that it is quite imperative that a criminal trial must go forth. In his case and in many others.

If we do not -face- what is killing our entertainers (and so, so many others), the scourge continues. That's wrong.
