UPDATE: The LA Times notes that the backlash against Fiorina's new ad has already begun. In a matter of hours it has become an internet sensation, though presumably not in the way she would have hoped.
The LA Times is reporting that the online warfare for this year's open California Senate seat is getting underway, with opening salvos being fired at Carly Fiorina and Tom Campbell.
In what the Times describes as "taunts that seem drawn from a middle school playground", The California Democratic Party has launched an online campaign branding Carly Fiorina as "Carly Failorina", dwelling on her controversial six year tenure at HP which culminated with her termination in 2005. Video from the site can be seen below.
Fiorina launched a website and video of her own, labeling one of her primary opponents, former U.S. Rep. Tom Campbell, as a "Fiscal Conservative In Name Only," or a FCINO. The painful acronym is a takeoff on a "RINO," or a Republican In Name Only, which both Fiorina and Campbell have been accused of being by conservative members of the GOP.
