The National Republican Congressional Committee confirms that it has launched a call campaign urging the removal of Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) from her post as Speaker of the House.
The calls are designed to raise funds for the committee in addition to pushing House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) as the next House Speaker -- provided, of course, that Republicans take back the majority.
They also include -- according to a source who has received a call -- several leading questions about Pelosi and the job she has done, including accusations that she has refused to work with Republicans. The call culminates in a call for her removal from the speaker's chair and the solicitation of donations for the NRCC.
John M. Bolland, a professor at the University of Alabama, and a recipient of one of these calls, told the Huffington Post that it sounded as if Boehner himself narrated part of the message. But a Republican source said the voice on the recording was not that of the Ohio Republican.
If you get a call (and, better yet, are able to record it) please alert the Huffington Post.
