POLITICO:

Senate Republicans don't have much of an appetite to give President Barack Obama their version of question-and-answer time - not after seeing how Obama handled House Republicans last week.

"We're always happy to hear from the president but I don't really feel any compelling need to do it [on camera]," Texas Sen. John Cornyn, the Republicans' chief campaign strategist, told POLITICO.

They're interested in the more serious stuff than question and answer, you know, like putting blanket freezes on Obama nominees.

No surprise ...Cronyn doesn't want the Senate GOP to look like the fools the House GOPers did. Besides these Repthugs don't feel the need to learn anything. They all operate on the Bush , "i know what is right and wrong, I feel it in my gut', nonsense.
This should though be advertised loud and wide by the Dems to show how uncooperative and unwilling to discuss solutions the GOP is. While they're at it can can throw in how Kit Bond and Shelby are holding up nominations for important positions to blackmail the govt. into giving their states more earmarks.

I am from Texas and John Cornyn doesn't represent my interests in anything. I have written to him on many issues and I always get back a generic letter that doesn't really address the issue I raised with him. Nevertheless, I just sent him another message asking him why he is afraid to face our President in a public Q&A session. I told him that his statement "I think we’re more interested in serious public policy issues rather than providing another photo-opportunity for the president.†is both disingenuous and disrespectful to the Office of the Presidency and to President Obama personally. I let him know that some of his constituents can see through him and know he is just afraid to let us see him in a verbal show-down with the President. Calling a Texan a coward, even if I didn't use that word, is a serious offense, so maybe John Cornyn will respond, but I truly doubt it. I'm pretty sure I'll just get another generic letter written by a staffer in his office.

Jeez. What a complete Texas Cornyn-hole.

Q: How does Cornyn find his way back to Texas?
A: He goes west until he smells it. The turns south until he steps in it.

Dem partisans, not elected officials, need to play this up as chicken hawks now playing chicken little.

Remember how a guy dressed up like a cigarette followed Bob Dole around on the 1996 campaign trail to remind voters of Dole's connections to big tobacco? Well, someone in a chicken suit needs to follow around some of these Republican Senators.
