Judge Wants Copy Of John Edwards Sex Tape From Andrew Young

PITTSBORO, N.C. — A judge wants a former aide to John Edwards to appear in a North Carolina court along with any copies of private videotapes that are being demanded by Edwards' former mistress.

Superior Court Judge Abraham Penn Jones has scheduled a hearing Friday for Andrew Young, who has said he has a video of Edwards having sex with a woman.

The judge wrote in court documents that Young could be held in civil or criminal contempt if he does not personally appear in court along with all copies of the items that Edwards' mistress Rielle (ree-EHL') Hunter is seeking.

Hunter won a restraining order to get back photos and what she called a private video she made in 2006. Young's attorneys say the tape Hunter wants appears to be different than the one he has.

Here's what I don't get with these Bubbas - specifically Clinton and Edwards.

The day may come when we'll be evaluating office seekers on their ability to perform the duties of the offices they are seeking. Sanford was carrying out his duties as successfully as his conservative supporters could hope for. Edwards was taking gutsy positions in his campaign for President. Clinton's sex life had no bearing on his talents at running the country. Kristen Chenoweth was all that her Republican backers could hope for as a member of Congress. The C street boys were carrying out their conservative agendas despite their dalliances. Gary Condit made whoopee with the wrong woman, but as a conservative Democrat, he was getting the job done. The list goes on and on.

But did these people have the character to perform their duties? Yes, unless you think their duties have a sexual requirement to them.

Part of me wants to agree with you. But, remember, part of character is honoring your word. The marriage vows are supposed to be an oath....of course seems Edwards had fidelity removed from his.

If you can't trust a man to be faithful to his wife, can you trust him in other matters? Maybe. Maybe not.

The question might be, can I trust a man running for elective office, whose wife can rely on the fact that he has been faithful? There's probably no science on this, so all we have is speculation.

I would concede that he gets no points in trustworthiness if he has philandered. Maybe he even gets points taken away for that. But can anyone really run for office without having shaded the truth in his favor? He might recast an opinion to make it more appealing to the electorate. He might sidestep questions the answers to which might lose him some votes. There can be a host of imperfections. We're all human, after all.

But if you're a conservative with a choice of voting for a conservative philanderer or a faithful liberal, for whom would you vote?

And what does that answer say about you? If you forgive his shortcoming because he's a conservative, does that make you immoral -- or pragmatic. If you don't, are you sacrificing important ideological goals to advance your personal views on morality? It boils down to what's more important, doesn't it?

On NPR, the contempt of court was one copy for the Judge to review and determine if Hunter could get her restraining order. Not ALL copies as this article reports. So which one is right?

News of the sex tape was out at least six months ago and got little traction. She knew it this man had it for at least that long but only now decides she wants it back. So what is the difference between now and then, the Edwards are officially separated. Six months ago, the supposed public persona was that they were reconciled.

This woman wanted the tape to be found or she wouldn't have left it in a box of garbage. She shared the living space with other people. You would assume you'd guard it with your life... definitely keeping it under lock & key. She wanted the story to break, the back seat view wasn't enough for her. In the meantime she helped ruin the man's career, marriage and her life. They deserve each other! I feel sorry for the children, they didn't ask for any of this.

Why do these people tape themselves having sex, especially with people they aren't supposed to be having sex with? Unless their name is Paris Hilton, they have to know it isn't going to end well for them.

I don't know about anyone else, but the last thing I want to see is my own ass on a TV screen, regardless of who else is in the shot. I mean, I've always just sort of assumed that my naked ass will one day ruin my life, but I'm not going to tape it and accelerate the inevitable.

Disproves the saying "Only her hairdresser knows for sure"
