GOP Candidates Crowding Primary Races Across The Country

The Los Angeles Times:

As the Republican Party's chances of success in the fall elections increase week by week, so too has the number of Republican candidates jumping into primaries across the country. Party officials claim to welcome the enthusiasm, but in many places it's the sort of welcome reserved for an uninvited guest.

Or eight uninvited guests, as is the case in Arkansas, where the lineup of candidates wanting to challenge Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln has swelled to nine. An open seat in Tennessee has four Republicans vying for the nomination, and one erstwhile Republican running as an independent. Two competitive districts in Virginia have drawn out 11 hopefuls between them. Races in Nevada, New Hampshire and California also are crowding fast.

I think the AZ Tea party web page looks great, more inclusive of everybody and a great message.

I heard John McCain has a conservative running against him in the primaries in Arizona. That should be interesting to see as it could go either way there.

He seems like a good cadidate. How does he feel about gay marriage? Not opposed to it is fine, and is he in agreement with John McCain about DADT until we are in peace time and further evaluate the situation.

Im hoping the great state of Minnesota will consider endorsing Tarryl Clark for a senate run in the 2010 elections. She seems like a centrist Republican and is gay friendly and nice to everydody.

You'll need to forgive the LAT - they are a pretty conservative bunch to start with.

As for the article, well, that just makes it easier for the Teabaggers, er, Tea Partiers, to back a top-flight candidate to run against the Democratic "evil-doer" in the fall.

Just like the the New York 23rd.

How does one party "crowd" the primaries? No matter how many run in the primary, when all is said and done, there's one candidate per party in the general election. Crowd away!

Sorry, but when an article starts with a presumptive statement presented as fact, you should all treat it as propaganda.

If the first sentence violates journalistic ethics without any attempt at substantiation, the editor has failed or has an agenda.

There you go: the party of me me me me me me me. All trying to elbow their way to a turn at the trough.

Ask not the GOP what the Democrats have done to the country; ask the hypocritical Republicans what they have done for the country -- because it is apparent what they have done to the country.

Ask not why health care reform is in trouble; ask what trouble we will be in -- if we do not reform health care.

Ask not whether climate change is a real concern; ask if the climate changes would you be concerned.

Ask not if regulation of financial markets is required; ask if financial markets regularly operate such than no regulation is required.

Ask not if China is on the rise, look at the widening wealth gap, the shrinking middle class, the dysfunctional government corrupted from within and from the outside, the broken educational paradigm that is failing children at the lower levels and soaking up finances at the higher levels, the off-shoring of jobs, trade imbalances, the death of unions, the shrinking of the manufacturing segment, the power of corporations…and ask, if America is on the decline.

Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do to have your country do something other than what threatens to erode country, to destroy country, to diminish country, to tarnish country.

Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask your country to come up with a cogent visionary plan so that you can assist your country in doing something for itself.

Once again, "Conservatives" (I use that loosely) are scared. Scared after 9 / 1 1, terrorists, scared of socialists, fascists, people from Nigeria, healthcare, etc.

Always loud and complaining because they are scared.

They make terrible statements and accusations because they are scared.

Grip their G u n s tightly, because they're scared.

Ready to vote in a MUCH worse direction, because they're scared. (and f 0 0 L ish)

Yes, you can crawl back in your holes and let the grown ups discuss politics now.

Just S H U T UP already!

Are Americans really D u m b enough to trust anyone that says they are conservative, fiscally responsible, or independent?

I really hope not. Those three things are the exact Republican talking points that a candidate will run lock-step on.

There is NO reason to believe them.

Looks like we're boxed in. What are we gonna do about it?

Voting in Republicans certainly is not the answer. Any thinking person could see that.

Or am I the only one who is NOT suffering from memory loss?

Yes they are.

Republican Mark Kirk from Illinois is the perfect example. He has been a rep of the semi-liberal northern burbs for many years because he has been a moderate, but now that he is campaigning for Obama's old senate seat he marches to the right wing goose step. He voted for cap and trade as a rep but says he will not as a senator.

Sadly there are a lot of non thinking persons out there - out east they are called Mass holes. They suffer from Fox induced memory loss and desperation. This is the same network that had "experts" on saying that the stock market would go up wneh Scott Brown was elected. There is no correlation wither way but as nature has a nice way of proving their lies, it made triple-digit drops the first two days after his election and the day he was sworn in. Gltta love those Fox experts and the willingly clueless that blindly follow.
