Carl Bernstein

wowOwow:

Carl said he was working now on a book about the vagaries, the achievements and the, yes, crimes of the Congress of the United States. He says, "It's quite a story and here's the funniest thing about it. When I first shopped the idea around to editors and publishers, I couldn't get anybody even to nibble.

But now that the Senate and the House of Representatives have made such a spectacle of not governing in the United States, this book idea is hot, hot, hot!"

Great! Mr. Bernstein has talked about outing them on several occasions...Clearly the current Congress is broken and corrupt. He has articulated his frustrations with watching the breakdown of Democracy before the eyes of the American people. He has also called out people like John McCain as obstructionists and hipocrits. He has also talked openly about the number of corporate lobbyist as the numbers have increased considerably over the years and it's only going to get worse after the SCOTUS recent decision. Corporations are people!?! CRAZY!

Don't really know why "Up in the Air" is getting such accolades. Didn't really like the movie - too real and the characters are anything but endearing. I found the story boring and predictable - how many people didn't know she was married with kids?? How many people didn't think he would run out of his back back presentation in the end as all of his ideas crumbled?? Maybe the folks in Hollywood don't understand that real people, especially those doing a lot of traveling, want to escape the "Up in the Air" world not wallow in it.

Shocking!
"Journalist" Bernstein decides to write a negative book about congress when the Democrats have control of both houses. Silence though, for the many years Republicans controlled everything on the hill.
I guess Mr. B didn't get to be a rich & powerful beltway "player" for no reason.
