Tennessee high school history teacher Warren T. Johnson shattered the world record for hugging and raised more than $17,000 for Haiti Friday, WKRN reports.
Johnson hugged 1,932 people in an hour, almost doubling the previous Guinness World Record for hugging 765 people in the same amount of time.

The money raised in this hug-a-thon will be donated to the Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. The school is now encouraging others to take a "Hugs For Haiti Challenge" and break Johnson's record.
