Fundraising events at Indiana state prisons have raised more than $11,000 to aid relief for Haiti. Prisoners held a bake sale and a silent auction as part of the effort.

From The Associated Press:

The prisons then donated to organizations in their area that were aiding the Haiti Relief Fund. Besides money, the Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility collected non-perishable food items.

Another beautiful act of kindness. Love to the Indiana inmates, I hope you get to read my message.

See Rush L, it's not that hard.

The light of God will shine in Indiana state prisons. There will be more peace, more love and understanding. You guys have done a great thing. It's really moving. It's unselfish. Thank you.

That's really wonderful. Really.

It mentions participation by a "Juvenile Correction Facility". Sounds like real men in the making to me. :-)

Good on all of you for remembering that a mistake doesn't define the whole of who you are, and that there's good in you. Be proud of yourselves. For what it's worth - I'm sure proud of you. Mighty proud.

I hope these inmates get a chance to make amends and live an honest and fruitful life upon release.

Lets watch and see how the radical right tries to spin this into something negative.
