Obstruction and delay is not Leadership. Democracy on hold reminds me of the 2000 vote recount where Obstruction and delay was also the plan . The American people are held hostage by these tactics. Wake up Democrats and pass this through whatever process available (reconciliation) and forget about cooperation/bipartisanship from the opposition party. The 2000 election and the obstruction delay in the vote recounts should have been a lesson learned. Take a stand (Medicare for all- single payer) and watch our country prosper.

"The filibuster, which requires that 60 Senators come together to resolve the most controversial issues, that rule in the Senate, forces compromise. It forces the Republicans to reach across the aisle and bring in some Democrats when they have very controversial legislation or controversial nominees. It forces bipartisanship–something that tells us, at the end of the day, we will have more moderate men and women who will serve us in the judiciary. Those who would attack and destroy the institution of the filibuster are attacking the very force within the Senate that creates compromise and bipartisanship."
- Senator Dick Durbin (D), 2005

What they're in denial of is that NO incumbents are being re-elected in November....NONE.

Term limits will be imposed...one way or another....campaign reform will be imposed....one way or another, adherence to the rule of law will be imposed by the electorate one way or another.

I've said it several times, but once again the problem with the filbuster is that it is consequence free for the minority party. Please read the following article:

Thanks.

Get rid of the multi track. If a filibuster is called everything else comes to a grinding halt. No other business can proceed while a filibuster is in progress.

No more cheap obstruction, but the filibuster is still there when it is really needed.

Please, if there is a God, and if he or she is listening, please don't let these horrible republicans win back control of Congress in Nov. The party of No should be even more marginalized for their obstructionism and bad faith dealing.

Very easy solution to get rid of the issues with Health Care Reform so we no longer havve to listen to Repubs the likes of McConnell...and they'd have one less thing to filibuster:

So simple a solution here that it seems everyone has missed it...

1) Pass Medicare for All through reconciliation and let it start as early as July, 2010;

2) Change it so that there are no income limits on Medicare/Social Security contributions as of July, 2010 - it should continue for everyone until retirement age...and only THEN should Medicare/Social Security contributions stop! In other words, pay into it until you go on it (meaning Social Security)! Very straight forward...and simple to do!

3) Eliminate the anti-trust exemption for insurance companies...although, if 1) & 2) are put in place, the buying power of the Federal Government will assist in cost reduction/containment.

It should be this way, but sometimes those in Congress miss on the simple fixes to big problems.

Did anybody hear that the GOP presented their own budget to the White House and complained that nobody took it seriously.

Well here's the kicker, they didn't include any numbers in it. This is not a joke, I'm dead serious.

What a bunch of bozos.

Hating and shutting down the US Govt, Celebrating it's shut down over the past week was Faux News and the Republicans!

But that is the exact same strategy of the Taliban, Al Quaeda and the 911 Terrorists..!?

Why do the Republicans continually take actions to increase and inflame global terrorism and assist with their recruiting if they are truly Americans...!?

Hold on there, Junior, I think I've found your problem.

War's good for certain businesses. Interesting how the shooting wars seems to avoid any place with oil. Even Iran's leaders, for all their posturing, are not stupid enough to kill their own golden goose. At the end of the day, they'll become another nuclear power, which does nothing but drive up the price of oil. Personally, I see China using their trillions in surplus to buy up commodity futures in anticipation of this instability. Depression, here we come!

It's pretty clear that the GOP couldn't give a rat's you know what about the American people. It's just about politics to them. Pure and simple.

Mr. President :

Your ideas for the country as a whole have been a breath of fresh air. There is hope . The Previous administration slashed and burned the economy and left you with the mess. THeir playbook was to do so and make you look bad. Their policies are limited to ONE now and that is simply to say NO. You have overcome. You and your staff are doing a wonderful job (especially from starting off at a minus due to Bush).

The economy is strengthening . The view of the US from around the world has turned positive once more. You have put representatives and senators front and centre in the public eye by letting them show their true colors during this health care debate. The amercian public finally sees that the President does not just dictate and the congress ratifies that dictate. The congress makes policy . They must do their job . The american people now see the special interests hold on these members . Soon the ones beholden to those special interests will be voted out and true work that you had in mind Mr, President will begin.

When majorities increase for the dems after November,EVERY American will have the possibilty to achieve their true potential...I believe in you sir...their are so many people that believe in you sir...there is a majority that believe in you sir.. you will not give up or give in .. you will succeed!!”

All filibusters should be like they used to be. You have to hold the floor and talk, talk, talk. If the Reps want to filibuster, I want to see them up there doing what is supposed to be done, not just declaring a filibuster. If you're gonna do it, do it the Jimmy Stewart way.

The US voted for Barack Obama to lead. why? simply because in the last eight years BUSH RUINED this country.

greed, runs through republicans veins, hiding behind lies.

Bush created the largest deficit in history, and took no responsibility whatsoever.

so, we voted for change. We Now Have a Human Being in the Whitehouse.

i am hoping in November the US citizens, once again, will realize the truth and how it is not what republicans are spewing.

these tea parties were created on a bed of lies about healthcare reform. the conservatives do not want any healthcare reform whatsoever.

they don't care when insurance companies continue to raise premiums, offering less care and allowing them to continue filling their pockets as people die.

Because of Bush, Obama is left with cleaning up the vomit. and now, of course, the right attacks obama, wanting to destroy him at all cost, without having any real ideas themselves. it's easier to attack and complain, than to come up with constructive ideas. well that is something the republicans are just not capable of doing.

so now the conservatives create tea parties as a little get togethers, gathering people around so they can lie, lie lie and brainwash citizens about how obama a poisonous healthcare reform bill the hypocrisy and lies is astounding as it was bush who created the hugest deficit in our history.
