Chatroulette

nytimes.com:

The site [Chatroulette], which gets about 20,000 users on a typical night, generates one-on-one Webcam connections between you and another randomly chosen user. The results are occasionally serendipitous, putting you face to face with an interesting person from another corner of the planet. More often though, the site is reminiscent of those old anything-goes AOL chat rooms, only with video. Let's put it this way: Parents, keep your children far, far away. The site was well described in a New York magazine article recently and, oddly enough, was featured on "Good Morning America" on Saturday.

The first time on Chatroullete was a scary experience. As soon as you enter the site, you are face-to-face with randomly selected and a total stranger. The person you are chatting with may appear on your computer screen nude or masturbating. You can't control who comes next since it is randomly and anonymously selected, but you have a choice of clicking next and move the next user.

So much have been said about the risk chatroulette poses to kids since they have to register or login before using the site. There is no age restriction.

Chatroulette may not be the only site that brings so much frenzy and weirdoes, site like http://www.spinthecam.com seem to offer much more advance features than chat roulette. Chat roulette is made up of bare texts and yet, the popularity increases on a daily basic.

With the latest internet buzz, live video chatting, friends making and weirdoes has taking another dimension.
