Steve Jobs

nytimes.com:

A handful of presumptive biographers have, over the years, tried to tell the remarkable story of Steven P. Jobs: the youthful visionary who, after being ousted from Apple, the company he helped to found, triumphantly returned to lead a new era of high-tech innovation.

But those efforts lacked one important ingredient: cooperation from Mr. Jobs himself.

Now Apple's chief executive is set to collaborate on an authorized biography, to be written by Walter Isaacson, the former managing editor of Time magazine, according to two people briefed on the project.

I think we're seeing Jobs' sense of mortality expressed in this decision. It wouldn't surprise me if his retirement follows soon.

P.S. I'll wait for the Dan Lyons biography.

Fake Steve Jobs seems infinitely more interesting than Real Steve Jobs.

Typical SteveJob. He'll outsource all the hard work to someone else, then claims credit for it.

The entire extent of his being a visionary is his ability to lock people in to the Apple monopoly.

It could be interesting considering his illness. I do know that Apple has always ha problems with not having a forward delete. And now finally that problem has been solved with an app on its website called “KeyRemap4MacBook 6.4″ This software allows you to add a forward delete to any key on your keyboard. I have used the single back quote key that is below the esc key & above the tab key on my MacBook Pro. The software also helps stabilize and logitech devices that you maybe have trouble with if you are having trouble and can remap many other keys in different ways.

For me putting the Forward delete in that position is perfect. The forward delete is on the far left side and the backward delete is on the far right of the same row of the keyboard. It is on a key that I never use anyway allows be to use with just one keystroke. Something jobs should, but never fixed and finally someone id it for him.
