NEW YORK — Actress and best-selling author Tori Spelling is writing a children's book.

"Presenting ... Tallulah," the "sweet tale of a young girl who really just wants to be herself," is coming out in September, publisher Aladdin announced Tuesday. Spelling, star of the reality series "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood," also has written the memoirs "Mommywood" and "sTORI Telling."

A third adult release, tentatively titled "uncharted terriTORI," is scheduled for June.

Aladdin is an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

Jamie Lee Curtis wrote a wonderful book about adoption called Tell Me Again About The Night I was Born" that is charming and a beautiful gift for any parent adopting a child. Being a celeb doesn't automatically rule you out for writing a good book. Harley Jane Kozak starred in one of favorite movies, Parenthood, and writes fabulous mysteries. And Jenny McCarthy wrote several best selling parenting books even before she faced autism in her son. I recall a helicopter book by Princess Whatshername, the red head, and didn't Madonna write a kids book too? I try to think of the celeb books as bread and butter for the publishers so that maybe they can also look at my submissions too. Maybe that's naive and hopeful.

Take (only) 1,000 monkey's with ten shared typewriters and give them a week and they will write a children's book faster than this has-been, daddy hired, "starlet"/personality. Come on, does this deserve any press release? Now if she had had the book in hand, well maybe, if it was any good. Did she mention she was going to find a cure for cancer too?

It's so gross to me that the publishing world will let any celeb write a children's book. This means that they will more than likely not look at numerous unknowns because they found themselves a celebrity. It doesn't even matter the content.
