Sarah Palin Knocks Twitter, Calls It 'Little Twittering Thing'

First Posted: 04/19/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 04:35 PM ET

At a speech before Republican Party activists in Arkansas yesterday, Sarah Palin took a jab at Twitter.

According to CBS News, the former Alaska governor was asked what she considered to be the biggest threat to America today, prompting several in the crowd to call out, 'Obama!'

The audience laughed, and Palin spoke up.

'See, they said that, I didn't,' she said, reports CBS. 'Just you watch now, too, because somebody will be here with their little Twittering thing, and it's going to be on the Internet any minute now.'

Palin's didn't elaborate on why she takes issue with the 'little Twittering thing,' but the knock came as something of a surprise since the ex-governor is an avid social media user herself.

In addition to regularly posting blogs and commentary to Facebook, Palin is a habitual Twitter user--she tweets from @SaraPalinUSA--who is notorious for maxing out the 140 character limit with posts such as the following:

Earth saw clmate chnge4 ions;will cont 2 c chnges.R duty2responsbly devlop resorces4humankind/not pollute&destroy;but cant alter naturl chng

We wonder: will Palin take to Buzz?

I can't say that I find where she knocked twitter. She just made a comment about someone using it. I am no fan of this lady but this wasn't even a story.

She'd be a lot more effective with a big red nose, orange hair and exploding shoes.

So would more conservatives.

This is just seriously disgusting. Who CARES about this woman?

However it is that Palin knocks twitter, she knows how to attract attention. The Palin brand is still popular with some conservatives.
Palin is bad for America. She's also an extremely poor politician. But she knows enough to stay out of the 2012 race (it's too much concentrated work; Palin forbid that she wins).
The image of a bull in a china shop is apt: she's impossible to ignore and she'll destroy everything she touches. As conservatives look for another leader they rely on her (and Cheney, Gingrich, Barbour), but even they'll tire of her.

She's even a hypocrite about this. Wow. She sounds like an airhead with that Twitter lingo. I have a twitter, and I refuse to do that. I'm 19 years old. She's in her 40s :|

This shows she doesn't write her own "tweets".

I seriously think Sara needs an adult literacy course, but you know, those elites out there with their "diplomas" and their "opposition to the butchery of the English language," and their "correct sentence structure," and their "IQ's above 70" represents everything Palinism is out to abolish (and thingy's).

I swear, Sara is the Valley Girls meets Capitan Ahab.

Ions? Does Palin mean eons? She doesn't even understand that previous climate changes were due to tilts of the Earth, but the current warming trend is not. She couldn't make it past round 1 of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader.

Thanks, Plurabelle. "Ions" had me scratching my head, too.
