Lindsey Vonn Parodies Tiger Woods

Lindsey Vonn Tiger Woods

TIME.com:

And like millions of Americans, Vonn can't help poking fun at Woods' staged event. When a member of her Vonn-tourage tells her that Woods gave a few friends hugs after ending his statement, she cracks, "They're like, 'Yeah, you're awesome, you go have that sex.' " The room breaks into a laugh. Then she describes a skit she would want to perform if asked to host Saturday Night Live: picture Vonn at Woods' podium, blue backdrop and all. "There's something you don't know about me," Vonn says in a faux solemn, apologetic voice. "Tiger, you're like my idol, and I too have a sex problem." More laughter. "That would be freaking funny."

After today's accident it's obvious that she should be focusing on her skiing more than Tiger Woods...I find it incredibly tasteless on her part to try to make fun of what he and his family are going through. Grow up, LV!

"I don't know, I think I blend in pretty well," she says about the potential of being hassled by strangers on the street. "If I put on a baseball cap, no one would really recognize me."

Hint: You don't need the cap.

Update. Vonn predictably failed to impress.

Un 'freaking' believable! Talk about hypocracy - and I'm not talking about Vonn. I'm talking about the posters here.

So many posters here are disparaging Vonn because of her comment, yet I bet the vast majority of those posters have made Tiger jokes themselves. I've made them myself and laughed at most of the ones I heard. Plus I've read the stories about Tiger on HP and plenty of posters' comments were jokes. Why should Vonn take heat for the same thing most everyone else has done? Her joke wasn't even that funny. Funny or not it doesn't even warrant being a news item. Whoever wrote this story and those that carry it should be embarrassed.

The reason people are criticizing Vonn is because they are jealous of the little fame she has and feel a need to tear her down. Their pathetic comments say more about them then Vonn.

Its okay Vonn, in a month or 2 you'll be an afterthought, and no one will remember YOU for atleast another 4 years, or maybe ever. On the other-hand, Tiger will forever be known as one of THE GREATEST athletes period. Shes only bitter that Tiger didn't tap her keg, and the fact that even when hes not playing, hes making more in a MONTH than she will make in her entire lifetime.

I guess you had to be there. I found it neither funny nor relevant.

I am not sure how to describe it, but her interview after she won gold was a total disaster. This girl is a total air head. Sure she is entitled to her opinion. However, she should spend her 15 minutes of fame a bit more wisely.

Silly girl. Her heart must be totally into her sport. Nothing left her fellow man. Sounds like she is one of those "knock em when their down" people. Unneeded comments from her, her conversation skills must be lacking, unless the conversation is about her. Bet you........

Maybe if she had been more concerned about her performance on the slopes and not taking a cheap shot at Tiger Woods, she would have live up to all the HYPE surrounding her! Pathetic!

Two weeks ago, I'd never heard of her and couldn't have picked her out of a lineup. Two weeks after this Olympiad, people will have forgotten about her and gone back to not caring about Alpine Skiing. Tiger will still be Tiger and people will care about golf.

By the way, the skit idea was tasteless and lame.

Lindsey's trashing of Tiger really doesn't sit well with me, and many others here. I think that Tiger has already paid a heavy price for his philandering ways, and he made a number of apologies to people he let down. Give Tiger the benefit of the doubt. He said it better than anyone, words will not do and he has much to prove as he moves forward.

Lindsey just lost with me. Now that she's won a gold, she can kick people when they're down. I look at her as just another blonde much in the same way that i look at Sarah Palin...the incompetent.

The golfing world can't wait for Tiger to get back on the course. He will succeed just as others who've gone astray and found themselves. I think that apart from cheating on his wife, he's not a criminal. He's done a lot of good for many people, and most certainly, he's made me a golfing fan.

If Elin is willing to stay with him, that speaks for itself. That's all that really matters for Tiger. He wants his family back, and he's going to have to earn it.

Life has a way of kicking in the butt when you least expect it. So one might not want to kick someone when they're already down, even if it was self inflicted. I remember when everyone was up in arms about Clinton (and we all know Monica was not the only one), but history has seen the hysteria over that diddy to be motivated by something other than the sanctimonious raging of those who felt he somehow betrayed them. This too shall pass.

Can anyone explain why that is the least bit "freaking funny"?
