This is the good "science" I hear everyone talking about. Rush the drug out to market and lets have a study of it. It's all GARBAGE. I'd rather die than live by Big Pharma. These people are manslaughterers and have not a moral fiber in their bodies.

This is how the drug industry make their money. Let's take good care of ourselves, give up the sugar, excercise more, eat healthy and take in less of these drugs. They know some these drugs are bad but the GREEN supercedes everything else.

Just about enough to make a person feel completely nuts; the idea that our government pours untold amounts of money into hunting down marijuana smokers but leaves this drug on the market, along with lots of others...recently the FDA okayed prescribing statins to people who have no health issues. Statins cause dementia. There are so many of these stories. The whole medical cartel makes my head whirl. I feel as though I had been bashing my head into a wall, or should.

Another drug Actos which is the same class of drugs as Avendia is almost as bad. Lots of side effects.

The FDA is a joke, and I for one believe that there are many people on another payroll working within the FDA.

People with diabetes type ll will become the new smokers, and nobody really cares too much about drugs for them...

It is sad when illegal street street drugs have a better safety profile than the prescription drugs.

Trust in Big PhRMA is justifiably severely eroded. This Avandia scandal comes after a number similiar indictments of other drugs in recent years.

Fines and lawsuits are not enough to stop the rampant greed and unsafe practices of a former miracle industry gone completely sour.

Put some of the most egregious Big PhRMA CEOs into jail. Enough is enough.

All I needed to see was one of their ridiculous commercial for any of the new "IT" drugs. They spend 10 seconds with the remedies and another 50 seconds is the possible side effects that run the gammut to death. It is a racket, Doc. An insidious, dangerous racket.

My father d1ed of heart failure almost a year ago. If you guys know Destin who posts on here too, it was our father. And in the last few years he was alive, he was placed on diabetes medicines. I wonder if it was this particular one. Because he suddenly went downhill very, very fast. And all the doctors would do is just blame it on congestive heart failure and medicate him more to deal with the side effects and send him home. At one point they gave him zoloft. For apparently no other reason than helping him deal with his last few years. That was bad because that turned him more violent and angry. Just like everyone else I've seen taking zoloft.

Anyways, I'm getting angry myself. But if I find out that this was the medicine he was on, I'm gonna make sure the family files a lawsuit over it. All of those GOP and Tea Party tort id1ots can kiss my A$$ if they think I'm going to stand by and allow my father to have d1ed in vain!!

Just to give people an idea of what I mean... November 2008 he was still pretty health, alert, vibrant and able to get around on his own. That summer prior he had considered taking up golf again, which he played for most of his life and had to give up for a while because of a pacemaker/defib they put in him that took a long time to heal and he wasn't able to swing a golf club. So anyways, he's doing ok in Nov 2008, d3ead on March 22, 2009.

Went downhill that fast.

become you own researcher. my mother has. she took herself off of vioxx . and her cholesterol medicine. vioxx because she read an article before her doctor did. and the cholesterol medicine because she has learned to listen to her body. she started having symptoms like joint pains and numbness..
thank God she has a doctor that puts patients above drug companies. told her not take any more of it .and did some research . put her on a cholesterol lowering diet. no more pain .

This is very! old news. Why are doctors still prescribing it? I'd get a new dr. if I had one who was still writing prescriptions for this.

Elsewhere it is estimated Avadia caused some 83,000 excess heart attacks. Add that to the 140,000 excess heart attacks from Vioxx. With "medicines" like this who needs healthcare reform. Certainly the pharmaceutical industry wants to maximize its profits by giving drugs out for chronic conditions, but its not a good business model to murder all your customers, no wage earners left to leach from.

If the FDA were an organic herbal provider rather than the paid stooge of the pharmaceutical industry they would be on trial for charges of genocide by this point.

Oh please, don't bother big pharma. They are much too busy trying to take over control of marijuana, the supplement market, and trying to ban all herbal remedies that don't come directly from their greedy hands. How much will it take to pay off the FDA on this one?

Let's see, first they have to convince them that they have only the public's interest at heart. That shouldn't be too hard, they do it all the time...oh hey, don't show them the tests with all the WRONG results!

They also basically let Monsteranto create all of our food now. Gawd only knows what kinds of monsters will be roaming the earth when they are finished with their experimentation on humans.
Add on to that the chemtrails no one will talk about that poison us.
They are all so corrupt. I have become so non-mainstream medicine because I cannot trust anyone but myself with my health or care.

Right there with you. Then come all of the "science" proponents that detract from the alternative medicine field saying "none of it has any scientific proof behind it". Well, if Big Pharma and the rest of the "scientists" call this good "science" I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell them.

Trust me people, you're better off dead than letting Big Pharma kill you slowly.
