9 Public Proposals Gone Painfully Wrong (VIDEO)

Last Sunday, millions of people celebrated Valentine's Day with their significant others, and some of them even popped the question. Unfortunately, that doesn't always go over well, and even more unfortunately, that sometimes happens in front of thousands of strangers. Maybe you saw the proposal fail at a Rangers game last V-Day, which turned out to be a hoax, but we're pretty sure the following proposals are as real as the pain in the rejected lovers' faces. If you feel bad laughing at their misfortune, just remember that choosing to pop the question in public is a bigger gamble than marriage itself.

Mascot Consolement

This poor guy's heart is broken, but he does get a free beer out of it. Also, the mascot's mock sadness somehow makes it 100x worse.

Only a guy who was trying to put the woman on the spot thinking to allow her no graceful way out would pull such an ignorant stunt. It's on a par with that of a woman who allows a guy to get her pregnant in order to force his hand. Neither are welcome. Whether or not these were staged or not they point to a lot of stupidity. My own feeling is that anyone who would do either whether staged or real is an idiot.

The empire state clearly was fake, otherwise the guy would have never put it on the web.

Some of the others were real. The guys were stupid to put that much public pressure on the girl, but if the girl was thinking she should have just said yes for the moment and then dumped him like a hot rock later.

Those clips were AWESOME!

The empire state one was annoying for most of it, cause I couldn't stand looking at that guy's mug, but the way his GF responded was HILARIOUS!

Pretty sure the baseball one was fake, cause she'd have no reason to slap him.

The radio show one was SO MEAN, i literally rolled on the floor laughing. "Is it true?"

A) Anyone who pulls this public stunt can't complain of the humiliation if it goes awry.

B) I'm sure so many people feel sorry for the humiliated guys that there's no shortage of women to console them.
