API and Newt GingrichNewt Gingrich, through his political attack group "American Solutions for Winning the Future" (ASWF), has organized tea party protests, conservative legislative efforts, and is best known for driving the Republican "Drill Here, Drill Now" campaign in 2008. Until now, the only known financial backers of ASWF were the donors disclosed on his 527 IRS forms, like Peabody Coal and investor Rex Sinquefield. Gingrich -- who once believed in climate change science and believed the U.S. must act "urgently" to reduce carbon emissions -- has moved far to the right on environmental issues, and has allied himself with polluters fighting tooth and nail against clean energy reform.

Newt being Newt. He'll say or do anything, swing from branch to branch, mime, ape, imitate anyone that keeps him relevant in current politics. Newt is the epitome of hypocrisy. Dodged the draft while supporting the war, had to be taken to court for child support, asked for a divorce while his wife was sick in bed with cancer, writing bad checks... A true conservative he and his owner, Rupert Murdoch, can believe in.

GOP (Grand Old Prostitutes) pols don't even TRY to hide their whoring anymore. There was a time when Gingrich occasionally put policy ahead of politics, and while I often disagreed with his conclusions I had to concede that he brought intellectual rigor to the debate. Not any more. If Big Oil or Big Pharma or Big (Fill In The Blank) paid him enough $$, this organ grinder's monkey would argue that the earth is flat.

It's interesting how far conservatives have moved from their roots, and they don't even acknowledge it anymore. I recently wrote a blog posting on how environmental protection is first and foremost a conservative cause.

I speak with Republicans on a regular basis and ask they why they are so anti environment. Why they are not concerned with toxic dumbs and water that is not drinkable or have very dangerous high level of toxins?

I ask them why they will not support electric autos and new technology that will reduce pollution?

The answer is sad because they have none. They have no clue why the Republican party has no interest is supporting and oil reduced America big time .

They have no answer or rebuttal . The reason Republicans are the biggest supporters of pollution in America and want little to do with reducing our dependence on oil because lobbyist of the oil industry make sure their interest is not for the good of Americans.
