Scott Brown Wore Pink Leather Shorts On First Date With Wife Gail Huff

By now, you've probably heard about Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown's nude spread in June 1982's Cosmo, but what did the former model wear when clothed? Pink leather shorts, it seems.

Brown's wife and music video star Gail Huff told the New York Times about the couple's first date, to which Brown wore $750 pink leather shorts that he got from walking in a couture show.

Brown explained (via Vanity Fair):

"If I wore these now I'd get shot. But it was the '80s. Pastels were in. It was all pastel-y." The shorts went with his tan at the time and a pair of white shoes that he owned, so he gave them a whirl. "Gail comes out and she's like, 'Those are pink shorts.' I said: 'Yeah, you like them? They're great. Comfortable. Feel this leather."' With this last phrase, he slowly stroked the side of one of his thighs, apparently miming the gesture he made in front of her.

I for one think this is one of the funniest stories in ages...the idea of a heterosexual man wearing pink leather shorts on his first date is just not to be believed...yes, maybe it was the eighties, but I want to ask any hetero man here...would you meet some girl for the first time in such an outfit back then?

The more I hear about this man, the more interesting he is to me. He sounds normal for the times. And in the eighties, pink leather shorts were not unusual. Pastels on men were in, big time! And if I remember correctly, the pink was a very "mauve-y" color. If you were not "with it" or not born yet or are too young to remember, you just have no idea of what was considered "hip" at the time. It was wild and crazy and my memories are good ones!
