Knowshon Moreno Won't Face Trial For Punching 18-Year-Old

Posted: Updated:

Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno will not face charges for allegedly punching a college student in the face this weekend -- TMZ has learned police have officially closed the case.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that what transpired prior to the alleged assault remains somewhat hazy. Stephen Anderson, 18, was knocked unconscious and diagnosed with a concussion, and couldn't identify the three men he claims jumped him. Alcohol use has further compounded this problem.

Anderson's friends state that Moreno was one of the offenders, while Moreno contends that he was punched first before becoming involved. Given the lack of firm details, Hilda Sorrow, public information assistant for the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, said "it was determined there was not enough for us to [show] probable cause to continue with the investigation."
