Arianna At TOC Publishing Conference: We're In A Golden Age Of Publishing (VIDEO)

Earlier this week, Arianna Huffington helped kick off the Tools of Change (TOC) Publishing Conference as a keynote speaker. She spoke about HuffPost Books and how important it is for publishers to step into the future and embrace the changes that are taking over the industry. We are in a golden age of publishing, she said:

The more we try to go back to some golden age that does not exist, the more we miss the golden age that does exist right now. And that's the golden age of engagement.

Arianna urged publishers to become a part of the conversation by blogging about the books they've published and love, and by encouraging their authors to do the same. She also reaffirmed a mantra we have on HuffPost Books to "forget the pub date":

This idea that you have three weeks between pub date and oblivion... it doesn't have to be that way.

"Books are conversation starters," Arianna said. So join the conversation!
