Jenny Sanford Granted Divorce

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- A Charleston, S.C., judge has ruled that Gov. Mark Sanford's admitted affair with an Argentine woman is grounds for his wife, Jenny, to divorce him.

If you had a legal mind you wouldn't bring up cheating in this case. See, the Guv'nor never promised her to be faithful. So, he didn't break his word. The man is a model Christian, so his word is his bond. Conversely­, no word, no bond. Now, I don't know what the Newt's story is/was, but I suspect he gave his word to be faithful then he couldn't keep it. Beats me how come, because I can't picture a woman who would want to be with him alone when the lights are low, but maybe it's just my lack of imaginatio­n.

However, getting serious for a minuet, when these marriages go belly up, like Sandford's­, Edwards' and Woods', I always first wonder what the private domestic reality within that couple's world was really like. I have enough experience in life re the public and private face of wedded relationsh­ips to know that there's no way to suss out what it was really all about, Alfie, unless one is privy to a lot of the dynamics between both parties.
