LA County Search & Rescue Team Heads To Chile

A 74-member Los Angeles County Fire Department Urban Search And Rescue task force was mobilizing today for deployment to Chile to help in the aftermath of the magnitude-8.8 earthquake, authorities said.

Task force members were staging this morning at the county's USAR facility on Osborne Street in Pacoima, said county fire inspector Matt Levesque. Exact departure time and flight arrangements had not been established by midday.
