Darien Home Invasion: Neighbors React To Slaying Of 'Fantastic' Family (WATCH)

The murder of three family members in west suburban Darien Tuesday morning has shaken a usually quiet community.

Jeffrey R. Kramer, 50; his wife Lori Kramer, 48; and their son Michael J. Kramer, 20, were killed when an unknown gunman entered the home. Police told NBC that the killings do not appear to be random.

Police responded to the 8900 block of Kilkenny Drive in the Tara Hills subdivision after the daughter, who was hiding in a closet, called 9-1-1 about 3 a.m., NBC reports.

Neighbors rushed to the scene Tuesday morning.

"They're a fantastic family," neighbor Donna Hovorka told NBC. "If you needed anything they were there for you."

No arrests have been made as of 3:30 p.m.
