The SeaWorld trainer funeral held yesterday stirred emotions for both those who knew Dawn Brancheau and those who didn't.
The ceremony honored the 40-year-old's life at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel on Chicago's South Side.
Dozens of candles flickered to represent the "light" Brancheau gave her profession, according to the Chicago Tribune, which also says inspirational music was carefully chosen to reflect Brancheau's "fun-loving personality."
Hundreds of mourners attended the SeaWorld trainer funeral, including dignitaries like Comptroller Dan Hynes and Chicago Alderman Ed Burke, per NBC Chicago.
A profile by the Orlando Sentinel states that Brancheau was one of Orlando's best SeaWorld trainers and knew she wanted to pursue the career at an early age.
