Stewart Rips Rangel, Plays Classic Practical Joke (VIDEO)

After running down a list of recent embarrassments to the state of New York, Jon Stewart turned his attention to Charles Rangel, ripping on the Congressman and having some fun in the process. Stewart took Rangel to task, mocking him for the repeated indiscretions and the irony of his position on Ways and Means Committee.

But the kicker came when Stewart flashed a picture of Rangel passed out on a pool-side chair that "encapsulated the cluelessness of that ethical misjudgment, the arrogance bred by 40 years of Congress, but also added a comic twist." And how could this picture get even more ridiculous? Enter a warm bowl of water and a need for a new pair of shorts.

Ah heck. I think that it's good that humorists that are generally on "our" side take swipes at Dem demogoguery as well as Reps'. Especially in this case, because, I mean, what the HELL was he thinking? But in ANY case, it shows that we have a more rounded sense of humor and can take a joke as well as dealing one out. As opposed to the other side, who can't take a joke, even though they are a never-ending source FOR them.

Jon is right once again. How can we, as dems, bitch and moan about the repubs when the dems are doing the exact same thing? I swore that once we got rid of Bush, I would hold the dems to the same standards many libs and dems complained about the repubs.
And, as usual, partisanship overrides our senses. Dems make excuses for other dems, but just about fall over each other when they catch a repub doing the same thing.
If we really want the change, then we have to set the example. Use your heads people. We have corrupt reps. They need to be weeded out and removed. They are not serving our best interests. They are serving their own. Regardless of party.
But, alas, I see by a lot of the comments on this page that we are more than willing to compromise our principles for power. Thats why we have the government we deserve.

Never did the warm water trick, but I can safely say that the "toothpaste on the hand of sleeping person, then tickle the face" trick does work.
